Battle of the Strikers (NOT CONTINUED)

that also means you got to update the goals and points as well.

Edit: Nevermind, i didn't read that you'll update. only read that you did the round twice and the proper round 5.

to do what you're doing, do you go to the database editor and go create person. and if so, does common name mean nickname.

Yes, I added them using the data editor. I haven't actually included the nicknames on your player - I just add them in on the match report myself.

Avro can score 9 goals also? I thought he was always lazy and I am surprised to see him running in the football ground. :D nevertheless, good story.. Keep it up! :cheers

Oh well, I suppose I'll continue. I'm sure you're all keen to see the next round, and maybe for everyone on the bottom we can all hope Hedger gets injured and is out for the season. :p

Also, thanks Surendar for the positive feedback. :D

Game 6 - A Low Scoring Round

Nearly all of the strikers struggled in the sixth game - their last friendly. Two of the strikers (Superstar and Lerana) didn't actually have a sixth friendly, so they will play off against the Hucknall Reserves team instead of a senior team.

It was a very low scoring round for the strikers - there was just 8 goals scored between the 7 strikers (which is not much, if you compare it to the last round where the 7 strikers scored 17 goals). Let's see how the strikers fared.

Striker #1 - Blake Superstar

01/08/07: Hucknall vs Hucknall Reserves (friendly)
Final Score: Hucknall 7-3 Hucknall Reserves

Hucknall: Bobby Wilson (6), Blake Superstar (19, 23, 45), Danny Bacon (30, 36, 68)
Hucknall Res: Michael Burns (17), Ben Kistell (48, 54)

Player Watch: After Superstar's magical five goal effort against Lewes, he continued his high standard after dominating his reserves side with a hat-trick and an assist. Superstar was superb, and earned man of the match despite being substituted in the 68th minute. Danny Bacon was also superb, nailing a hat-trick, but it will be Superstar who everyone is talking about, scoring 8 goals in his last two matches. There are now no more friendlies before the real competition. It should be very interesting!

Points Earned: 60

Striker #2 - Brendon Hedger

01/08/07: Hucknall vs Welling (friendly)
Final Score: Hucknall 4-2 Welling

Hucknall: Danny Bacon (34, 68), Brendon Hedger (64, 86)
Welling: Omari Coleman (47), Ellis Remy (79)

Player Watch: Brendon Hedger's form continued as he scored a handy double to boost his side to a 4-2 victory over minnows Welling in Hucknall's last friendly before the season commences. Hedger was rock solid up front, playing superbly all game and contributing with two goals. Bacon in the end won the Man of the Match award, but it seemed some sections of the crowd thought differently. A devoted section of the club has already put forward a statue to be made in front of their home ground of Brendon Hedger.

Points Earned: 28

Striker #3 - Troy Lerana

01/08/07: Hucknall vs Hucknall Reserves (friendly)
Final Score: Hucknall 3-1 Hucknall Reserves

Hucknall: Danny Bacon (3), Troy Lerana (59), Gary Ricketts (87)
Hucknall Res: Stephen Smith (84)

Player Watch: Lerana chipped in with a comfortable goal, but failed to win Man of the Match honours which went to his fellow striker Bacon. Lerana was solid, earning himself a rating of 8, but he will definitely want to improve after slipping off the pace in recent rounds. In the second round, Lerana became the first striker to score four goals in a match, but he hasn't been able to recreate that feat or even come near it in the most recent three rounds.

Points Earned: 17

Striker #4 - Shantanu Ambekar

30/07/07: Hucknall vs Macclesfield
Final Score: Hucknall 2-5 Macclesfield

Hucknall: Shantanu Ambekar (10), Gary Ricketts (59)
Macclesfield: Michael Syms (31, 35), Francis Green (39), John Rooney (73), Kristian Dennis (76)

Player Watch: It was always going to be a tough game for Hucknall coming up against League Two outfit Macclesfield, and in the end they managed a 5-2 scoreline in favour of their opponents. Shantanu was very solid, keeping up his form by scoring another goal. Despite Ambekar's early strike, the Macclesfield defence was pretty solid all game and didn't let him through again. Ambekar was quite good alongside his other front striker Ricketts, and if he can continue this form into the league he will definitely be a contender.

Points Earned: 14

Striker #5 - Avroneel Biswas

30/07/07: Hucknall vs MK Dons
Final Score: Hucknall 2-2 MK Dons

Hucknall: Avroneel Biswas (pen 22), Russell Cooke (83)
MK Dons: Jemal Johnson (50), Alan Navaroo (54)

Player Watch: Hucknall would've been delighted to hold League 2 side MK Dons to a draw, thanks to another good showing from Biswas and which he scored a goal, albeit from a penalty. Biswas was easily the best on his team and earned a rating of 8, although he didn't win Man of the Match honours. With no more friendlies to be played, Biswas' Hucknall team seemed to be very patchy. Would the Prince bring his game to the real league?

Points Earned: 14

Striker #6 - William Ako

31/07/07: Hucknall vs Grays
Final Score: Hucknall 1-1 Grays

Hucknall: Russell Cooke (pen 90)
Grays: Ernie Cooksey (32)

Player Watch: Ako had a very quiet game against BSP team Grays, as he failed to score in his team's 1-1 draw. It was a disappointing round for Ako, who had looked promising last round earning 40 points and scoring a double. Ako had 5 shots on goal but failed to make any of them count. He was substituted midway through the second half with a rating of 6.

Points Earned: 7

Striker #7 - Stuart Cullington

01/08/07: Chippenham vs Hucknall
Final Score: Chippenham 2-1 Hucknall

Chippenham: David Pratt (33), Mark Badman (90)
Hucknall: Bobby Wilson (22)

Player Watch: Culli's patchy form continues as he failed to score yet again. He can't seem to get any consistency in his game - after being goalless two games ago, scoring a hat-trick last game and now scoring no goals this game. He really needs to start playing more consistently.

Points Earned: 8

NEW UPDATE

It's time to shake things up a bit. So, for now, welcome to the BATTLE of the STRIKERS store!

You can use the ingame points you have earned to request any one of these options. Points will be docked from your total upon purchase.

Get spending!

30 pts) Request a formation to be played in (e.g. 4-5-1, 4-4-2)
30 pts) Request to make your striker the Target Man
20 pts) Request to make your striker the Playmaker
10 pts) Request to make your striker the Corner Taker
10 pts) Request to make your striker the Penalty Taker
150 pts) Request to be transfer listed
100 pts) Request to be released from your club
6 pts per day) Heal an injury

So, if you would like any of these options, you can buy them at any time. Just post in the thread which one you would like, and appropriate action will be taken.

Also - remember this. The bonus for moving up leagues might not seem great. If one moves up from the Conference to the Premier League, they will earn 375 points, which might not seem like a lot. However, everyone is 17 years old and the training facilities at Hucknall are poor. If one continues their career at Hucknall, their stats will slowly decrease, where as a better youth and training academy will see them go up a long way. It's up to you.

NEW SYSTEM: I have edited the points, so now moving up a league is worth 75 points. This should encourage strikers to want to play in the big time.

ooh, hard choice, i might want a formation change to 4-5-1 and then set me, but on the otherhand, i could just set a transfer status. Oh well, ill do nothing for the moment.

Can I request a tactic to be used? Like, send you it and you use it on my team.

Alright Culli, on one condition. Seeing as corner cheats could make it a little bit unfair, it will cost you 10 points for every other setting you use (e.g. setting the Corners to 6 yard box). 10 points each.
