Sarwan and Ramdin, you little rippers! Absolutely brilliant performance! Good total this would be.

Brendan Julian:
Let?s take a breather from the amazing action going on in Kuala Lumpur and have a chat to Mark Waugh with the fall of the 6th wicket. Junior I don?t remember any of us tipping a 130 run partnership to save the West Indies in this match.

Mark Waugh:
I definetly remember predicting it BJ so maybe you have forgotten (laughs).

BJ:
Two heroic efforts there with Dinesh Ramdins coming to an end being caught in the deep but I don?t think it will worry the West Indies change rooms with just 10 balls to go.

MW:
No it?s a safe bet that they will be dancing around in here now that they have a very competitive total on the board. Depending on how many they get in these last 10 balls they may well start favourites when Australia come out to bat.

BJ:
Do you think it?s Australia?s fault for letting the West Indies back in the match here Junior?

MW:
Not so much the Australians fault as they haven?t done a lot wrong. Sometimes a batsmen gets on a roll and he becomes almost impossible to bowl two. In this case two batsmen have got going in a big way. The Australian?s may have left the door ajar and the West Indies have just burst through the crack in this match.

BJ:
Alright well let?s not waste anymore time and return to the middle for the final 10 balls of the West Indies innings which should be very interesting with 4 wickets in hand. Bravo is the new batsmen.

Bowled him! Glenn McGrath takes two in two balls to be on a hat trick at Kuala Lumpur. A fully pitched ball on off stump, Bravo takes a swing at his first ball and misses completely for a golden duck as the leather makes contact with off stump.

The wicket means little as the damage has already been done by Sarwan and Ramdin but the West Indies will be keen to get Ramnaresh on strike so he can boost the lead in these final few balls. The question now is can McGrath get a hat trick?

Brendan Julian:
Just one ball there before you have rejoined us in the studio. McGrath takes two in two balls. Junior it?s a bit late to be taking wickets though for the Australians.

Mark Waugh:
Yeah BJ it?s extremely overdue but none the less it gives McGrath the chance to take a hat trick which is what many dream of but few achieve. The more important thing is that these wickets are also dot balls for Australia

BJ:
Now the new batsmen is Powell and I know we are both thinking that this hat trick is definitely possible with a man of his batting capabilities.

MW:
(laughs) Yes he?s not the greatest of stroke players so the Australians will be hoping for a dot ball at leased.

BJ:
Well let?s not talk about it any longer. It?s time for Glenn McGrath to bowl his hat trick ball to Daren Powell with the West Indies flying at 7/231.

I love the break in between wickets chats. So in-depth.

I think the Windies have done a marvelous job.

Good work mate!

EDIT: You said Slats career is over and he broke both his legs. Broken legs heal mate :p.

Michael Holding:
This is a very interesting change of events. McGrath who broke the partnership between Sarwan and Ramdin of 130 runs then picked up Bravo first ball to be on a hat trick here. It?s an amazing atmosphere in Kuala Lumpur. Thousands of fans on their feet chanting and cheering for Glenn McGrath who is at the top of his run ready to bowl his hat trick ball to the new batsmen Daren Powell????????.

Michael Holding:
Bowled him! The stumps are flying and the Australians are running in all directions. Glenn McGrath has got his hat trick hitting half way up middle and eg stump. Powell not afraid of losing his wicket at this late stage of the match and it has come at a cost. The West Indies have lost three in three balls but it won?t matter much to them.

Darren Lehmann:
Your right Mike this wont mater much to the West Indies who have done their damage through Sarwan and Ramdin but regardless this is a moment that Glenn McGrath will always remember. The Australians are out there embracing a great achievement from Glenn McGrath in his comeback match to international cricket.

Brendan Julian:
Amazing stuff at Kuala Lumpur with Glenn McGrath picking up a hat trick in the closing stages of the West Indies innings. Junior he is still a champion fast bowler even after a long break from cricket to be with his wife.

Mark Waugh:
Yeah it?s like riding a bike for Glenn. Once you master it you never really forget it.

BJ:
A great comeback to from McGrath having gone for a few runs early in his spell. It might be a bit to late though Junior.

MW:
Yes it is a bit late for Australia to be taking wickets. The West Indies have got themselves into a great position here and now it?s up to Edwards who is the new batsmen in to get Sarwan on strike a try to score a couple of boundaries in these last 8 balls.

BJ:
That?s for sure. These last 8 balls will have a special significance in this match. If Australia can dot the batsmen up or take the final 2 wicket to bowl the West Indies out then they will go into the run chase will some momentum that they will need for a good start. On the other hand if the West Indies can score a few boundaries and have Australia chasing 240 - 245 then they will looking good to go on and win the game with there blistering pace attack on an inconsistent wicket.

MW:
Couldn?t of said it better BJ. It will be interesting to see which way the cookie crumbles so to speak when Australia comes out to bat later on.

BJ:
Alright well we are set to join the action after Glenn McGrath?s hat trick with Edwards on strike and 8 balls remaining.

This will be a good total for the Windies on a 'terroist' track :p.

Hope Australia can win this one.

McGrath followed up his hat trick with a dot ball against young West Indies quick bowler Fidel Edwards. However Edwards hit back from the last ball of the over with a boundary straight down the ground, which brought the score to 8/236 with an over to go.

Brett Lee stepped up to his bowling mark for the final time in this innings to bowl to Sarwan who managed a single first ball. What followed was some brilliance from Edwards and Sarwan who both displayed some great hitting over as the West Indies picked up another three boundaries off the over with two over the covers and the other whipped square over the leg side. The late flurry of boundaries brings the West Indies score past the 5 an over 250 to a very respectable score of 257 from 300 balls. An amazing achievement considering the position the West Indies were in at 5/101 before the half way stage of the innings.

The Australian are in for a very tough chase now as this underdone pitch at Kuala Lumpur starts to slowly deteriorate. The weather may offer some assistance in the early overs for the West Indies, as the overcast skies should provide some swing. When we return in around about 45 minutes from now it will be Adam Gilchrist as usual at the top of the order and joining him will be Matthew Hayden who will be desperate to score some runs in his comeback to one day international cricket.

Live Fox Sports Studio ? Change Of Innings

Brendan Julian:
Well the action has finally come to a conclusion in the West Indies innings. Mark Waugh is still here despite being upset that the West Indies have got back in the game and possibly even in control of the game.

Mark Waugh:
Yes it is disappointing from an Australian supporters point of view but there?s not a lot you can do against good batting like what we have seen from Sarwan and Ramdin. Ricky Ponting will probably look back and think that he could have attacked more in when the West Indies were at 5/101 instead of bringing on some defensive bowlers to tie up runs. That?s the game of cricket though and there is nothing Australia can do about it now except get out there and chase the runs down.

BJ:
Let?s take the time now to have a look at the innings that saved the West Indies from embarrassment in this match. As you can see in Ramnaresh Sarwan?s spider graph he has all the shots in the textbook.

MW:
Yeah BJ a very impressive graph that is. He scored in all areas of the ground and didn?t favour either the off or leg side. He showed great ability rocking onto the back foot and smashing it through the covers as well as equal ability to play down the ground and lets not forget that big six over square leg.

BJ:
There?s no doubt about it was the greatest one day innings that Sarwan has and probably will play. However runs in a losing side mean nothing so now it will be up to the West Indies bowlers to do there bit. How do you rate this bowling attack Junior?

MW:
It?s the typical West Indies attack. They are born to bowl pace over there and a fast bowler with a new white ball on a pitch that is doing a bit might spell a bit of trouble for the Australian openers but we will have to wait and see.

BJ:
Well we can?t forget the important role the Dinesh Ramdin the wicket keeper had with the bat today to partner Sarwan in a 130 run stand between the two. Let?s have a look at his spider graph.

MW:
The one that stands out first for me is that massive six over fine leg. It was a massive hit and beautifully executed by using the pace of Glenn McGrath. He wasn?t as versatile with the bat as his partner was but he got the job done by targeting point and mid wicket for his run scoring zones.

BJ:
We?ll take a look at an interesting graph now which indicates the rate at which the West Indies lost wickets. It shows how well the West Indies were able to rebuild in the middle overs after losing wickets early Junior.

MW:
Do you make that graph up all by yourself BJ? Yeah nah, That?s a very good indication of how well the West Indies managed there innings after the 23rd over when they were up the creek a bit. Obviously you don?t want that graph to get flat as it means the team is losing wickets quickly like at the end there with Glen McGrath?s hat trick. The Australians will be setting out to make a vertical graph if possible.

BJ:
With that in mind here?s another interesting graph that im sure a man of your intelligence Junior will struggle to get his head around. Yes it?s the partnership graph that clearly shows that the stand between Sarwan and Ramdin was the standout in what was a very woeful team performance. The final unbeaten partnership between Edwards and Sarwan was also a great help to the team having made 25 runs in a very short period of time.

MW:
I do understand that graph very clearly BJ. I agree that the team effort was pretty poor from the Wes Indies but the individuals have got them right on top in this match. One-day cricket is really a game for the individual performances though as you only need one or two blokes to fire and you can run away with the match as we have seen today. I would also highlight the Chanderpaul and Morton partnership for the 3rd wicket as an important won worth 40 that got the ball rolling for the West Indies before the team stalled losing wickets quickly.

BJ:
Defiantly Junior. All right well it?s time for us to get underway again in Kuala Lumpur as Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden make their way out to the middle. This is sure to be a great challenge for Australia as they try to avoid embarrassment and the West Indies try to knock off the world champions which they haven?t done in a substantial period of time.

Australia Vs West Indies

The West Indies team wandered out onto the field at Kuala Lumpur after the break between innings with the Australian batsmen, Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden not far behind requiring 258 at 5.16 runs an over for a successful chase. A good start is crucial for the Australians otherwise they risk falling behind the required rate which wont be good on a pitch that is starting to play worse as the overs go by.

Brian Lara gave the new ball to young speedster Fidel Edwards and advised him to use the swing whilst it was there in the opening overs. He showed promise in the first over conceding 6 runs having slightly over pitched trying to draw the batsmen into driving the out swinging delivery. The left handed opening pair proved hard to bowl to in the opening overs showing strength driving down the ground and running hard between the wickets. Hearts were in mouths in the second over when Matthew Hayden drove to midwicket taking off for the run, which wasn?t there only to send Gilchrist back mid pitch. The man of the hour Ramnaresh Sarwan executed a clean piece of fielding and with 2 and a half stumps to aim at all he had to do was hit to send the danger man packing. Having been in the thick of the action all day it seemed that Sarwan was destined to throw down the stumps and put the West Indies right on top with Australia?s total still in single figures but ti wasn?t to be as the throw narrowly missed the stumps and Gilchrist breathed a sigh of relief and gave a glare to his partner Hayden for almost costing him his wicket.

The missed run out may just come back to haunt the West Indies as Gilchrist started to dispatch the bowling of Edwards in particular including a massive shot all the way over mid wicket for half a dozen in the 5th over. After 5 overs were complete the Australians were sitting pretty at 0/32 requiring another 226 for victory. Edwards continued to cop some chop in his next over as Gilchrist lifted over the top taking advantage of the fielding restrictions. After a short and unsuccessful spell of 0/25 from 4 overs Edwards was replaced by Daren Powell. Just one ball into the 10th over Adam Gilchrist smashed a full ball down the ground in the air for boundary to bring up the team 50 and the half-century partnership. 208 required at 5.20 an over.

Lara made an interesting change replacing Best with the part time spin of opening batsmen Runako Morton. It was a move that was incredibly inspired or just plain stupid as he shaped up to bowl to Gilchrist who is in red hot form at the minute. After being smashed over cover for a boundary Morton hit a length spinning one back into Gilchrist who attempted to sweep but got a thickish top edge around the corner where Best took a good catch to dismiss the aggressive left hander for 39.

It would be safe to say that no one I the stadium would have expected Morton to get the breakthrough which is probably why he went completely over the top with his celebrations after capturing the wicket. The Australians are still looking good at the moment despite the loss of the wicket as the Australian captain Ricky Ponting makes his way to the pitch. The job for the West Indies now will be to cut the Australian run rate down now that they have the first wicket in the bank.

Australia 1/58
11.4 Overs
Run Rate ? 5.08
Required Run Rate ? 5.13
Projected Total ? 254
Runs To Win - 200

Gilchrist 39 (49)
Hayden 12 (21)*

Best 0/20 (5)
Powell 0/7 (2)
