This is typical of the sort of over-reactions seen all-too-often by sub-continent cricket supporters.

I think before we go jumping to conclusions that we might consider the whole illegal gambling syndicates thing which has blighted cricket for so long now. After all, the connection between the syndicates and organised crime and therefore shady practices is not to be underestimated in my opinion.

Have to agree with everyone else, to me it seems totally surreal, i keep expecting to hear that jack Bauer has been called in to help with investigations.

What makes it worse is the talk of betting syndicates etc, it sounds like something out of a film. I hope this isnt true. I might be able to accept it if it turns out to be a drunken fan or a heat of the momment thing, but something as deep as organised crime makes me fear for the future of our beautiful game

Whoever it turns out to be cant take away the fact that a completely innocent man was murdered and my deepest condolonces go out to his family and friends who must be going through hell.

I'm completely shocked. I just thought i'd check the BBC website before going to bed and saw the headlines.
Cricket, as much as we all love it (and hate it at times!) is still only a game. No one deserves that. I can only say that my thoughts are with his family and I hope the Jamaican Police catch whoever was responsible.

I hope the worthless piece of ....... really pays for it. As far as I am concerned he deserves strangling himself. There is NEVER an excuse for MURDERING an innocent person. As far as i'm concerned people who do it either deserve the same torture back or else a life of pain and suffering. Jail is far too kind to these people, they deserve to have their entire life ruined because they went and took someone elses and made life miserable for his family and kids.

I hope like HELL the guy gets caught.

I just dont get.....why take a mans life because of a stupid sport......its a damm sport not war......shows that this world is going to the dogs.......think about how his family must feel.

I mean it wouldnt be as painful if you know he died of medical conditions or somthing but but someone taking someones life away for a stupid little sport is absoloutly mad!

This is odd type Dawood Ibrahim or what ever that turds name is and you see a pic of Cronje sitting in a pavillion holding a phone.......whats the deal with this git can't they send the swat team after him or somthing?

But yh something fishy for eg this happened with Wasim Akram he never went back to Pakistan after a tournament so no one could get hold of him, instead they took his dad.....its a shame this sort of stuff has been going on in cricket for so long...

well on cricinfo it says that he was strangled and that the police are searchin for his killer(s), which is absolutely said that someone would step down to that level and murder someone because of a cricket match.

Just for the record, I deleted your post not because it was extremely harsh on Pakistanis, but because it contained 30+ profanities.

Also, keep in mind that whilst I understand the anger at the news that Woolmer was murdered, please keep your emotions in check. Any more swearing in this thread will end in not only a deletion of the post, but also an official warning. This goes for everybody.

This is bad to hear that Bob was murdered. Kaneria, who was next to Bob's room have given his statement that he did not hear any noise. But Jamaican police thinks that more than one person may be involved.

One person arrested.. No identity of him nor the nationality known... They are confident that name will be revealed in next 10 hours. But this is bad to hear that Bob was murdered....
