It's not that weird that they did not have CCTV's in the room because that would be invasion of privacy. They probably should have been monitoring the hallways, though, given this is cricket's biggest event and so much money is involved

Yeah, I meant CCTVs in the hallways. CCTVs in rooms will be Big Brother-ish.

It was a great decision by the Govt. of India to send NSG commandoes with the team.

It's sad to see football hooliganism enter cricket. Wasn't a football player killed after the 1994 world cup?

sad stuff.

Also i wouldn't believe the media. Especially when they are reporting from the other side of the world. I hope the killer gets caught soon. :upray

Very sad news, let's hope the police investigation can go smoothly and that the offender(s) are caught.

Crickets going down hill and it keeps slipping, will the ICC be able to do anything? They seem good at ignoring most important issues.

This whole story has really put my love for cricket in a dark place, crime in SA is bad enough but this is just sickening.

i would if this happens in SA then its could be a bad for 2010football worldcup ,but in westindies is nothing.

Vishnu Som was talking to Hamid Mir, the Pakistani journalist on NDTV. Mir said that the Pakistani team has been cleared by the Jamaican police, and that they will fly out with the dead body of Woolmer to London.

Two Pakistani officials will take Woolmer's body to SA, and will stay there till his last rites are over.

Apparently, he was just about to retire.

So, turns a team into heros, then drugs get invovled, and then they lose to Ireland, followed by him getting killed just before retiring. He deserved a lot better. Seems like something out of a movie. And an another twist, Inzy retiring.

SPECULATION ALERT

How many here feel the Pakistani team members know more about this than they are letting on?

I don't think the players are involved. It might be someone from Dawood's gang. Serves Pakistan right for treating Dawood as a state guest, whilst the US has declared him an international terrorist. If this exposes Dawood, then Woolmer might have done a huge favour to India. At least, that'll get Dawood to India to face the hundreds of cases, including those of terrorism, filed against him.

Dawood Ibrahim- Wiki

More interestingly, Dawood's daughter is married to Javed Miandad's son.

Not in the room. In the hallways, or ideally somewhere on the door, which would get automatically activated when someone comes in or leaves the room. Surely, a top notch hotel like the one in question could afford that.

To get acces to a floow, you needed to use an access card. This is notable, as it would have been dificult for just another fan to find out Woolmer's room number and to get the access card.

I was having dinner and in the background I heard on the radio (99% sure) I heard there were no arrestes. I'm very sure I heard it right, but I'm not 100% sure.

Police arent saying anything. But, one journalist - Hamid Mir from Pakistan (I think from The Dawn) said to NDTV that one person has been arrested, and he has connections with bookies from the sub continent. GeoTV is also reporting the samething.

I dont think that Pakistani players killed him. But, if they were involved in match fixing, someone may be aware of who did it.
And yeah, Dawood's gang is a very prominent in betting and possible match fixing.
