Story Brendon vs Callum vs Jono - A Worcestershire Battle

Yeah, I was bored so I decided to play the final considering we each had one game each. I'll post my challenge trophy stats tomorrow as well. And it would be nice to finish this by christmas. Jono, play your game :p

I think he's gone away now until like the 27th, then he might be going away again for new years.

Actually wait, he was showing activity like half an hour ago.

I'm away until the 26th but I have internet sometimes.

I'm not going away after Christmas though.

But I don't have ICC on my mac so I can't play my match down here

Reaction:

I can't ****en stand the County Championship points scoring system, we dominated the match, yet somehow we end up with less points than them, fearsome tweak that.

The scorecard pretty much sums up the match, it was a road, but they almost folded on day five when we set them 205 runs to win in 35 overs, I though that was very generous of me, but they still didn't go all out for the win.

Most of our batsmen got amongst the runs, which would have been a lot more useful earlier on in the season, of course Shakib had the second lowest score, putting more emphasize on the fact that his batting in my game is what comes out of my ass. He does continue a late season revival with the ball however, being really our only bowler to prosper on the flat deck.

Anyway we ended up last by 22 points, despite only losing three out of 16 matches. I'd say about half of my 11 draws I would have gone on to win if there was a day five, hence again why the County Championship points scoring system is a piece of ████. Ironically Sussex finished in eighth, and they were the other team relegated from division one last season.

A good chance lost hedger, Daryl Mitchell was fantastic though, the other guy completely halted the run-rate. Nevertheless, Worchestershire reaching the finals was surely a lovely sight after we saw all others' (CG and Chewie ones), succumb in the prelims only.

So what were we going to do now. Are we going to play another season or not?

And Jono stlil needs to play his final game.

I for one would like to see you play on. I'd be particularly fascinated as to how you tried to improve the squad in the off-season. Worcs did a dreadful job, losing almost all their key players, in between '09 and 2010. Financial reasons presumably. Would love to see you start to rebuild. They were quite a strong team in 2009 - in the game anyway.

Excellent story either way. Kudos! :clap

Yeah, I wouldn't mind doing a second season at least. I would like to see what we come up with in the offseason.

Like you said we're still waiting for Jono's final game. I was going to VM him yesterday, but I think he's away ATM.

Also when you (Jono) post your final game, can you post your full CC points (wins/losses/draws/batting/bowling/total etc.), so I can update the first post.

After Jono's final match I think we should at least post an update about our off season, but I'm not really sure if I'll be up to doing another whole season.

Sure the updates don't take long, but towards the end of this season I was more just posting them for the sake of it, and I know when that happens I'm more or less done. I guess you (Brendon) may have been slightly different, as you were actually winning games.

I'll see what happens over the off season, a few decent buys could sway me towards carrying on.

BTW I think it's pretty safe to say that Brendon won the first season.

I have a small suggestion for you Callum. Transfer the first post either to Hedger or to Chewie so that instead of one, two guys (either Hedger or Chewie and you) will have the command of the first post.

I guess it might reduce the confusion, if there exists any. :)

Ok, yeah. I see what you mean Callum. We'll see what happens. Let's go through to the new season and play about 10 matches I think and then decide whether we want to continue.

And there's not really any confusion. It's just that Callum doesn't know Jono's batting and bowling points exactly.

Yeah, during the season it doesn't matter much, but it's just that it's the end of the season, so I want to get it exactly right.
