Yeah, Edwards is quick and really starting to pay off for the Windies. Taylor is not to be forgotten though, he was getting up in the mid 140s and you tend to think on a seaming or hard pitch he'd go ballistic.
I've been paying close attention to pace bowlers in Australia this season and Lee's range definitely still goes up past 150, but for a lot of reasons he is not out to short the radars any more. Tait hasn't quite reached last summer's peaks in games I've seen, but he has been so fast, he probably has hit 160 at times when I haven't seen, such as the T20 where the bowlers weren't clocked.
To focus on Lee, I'm not seeing anything to complain about. He has good control, he swings it, he seams it, he reverse swings it, he has good slower variations, a good bouncer and a good yorker. Above all else, he is bowling intelligently.

well if akhtar were to straighten his arm he would bowl alot slower and then lee will still be the best and then Steyn would also be better than Akhtar if he isn't already ( just my opinion )

Thats just pure bias, if you notice the pace with Shoaib then how do you not notice it with Lee, Tait and Steyn, considering they bowl faster than Shoaib atm. Oh wait, thats because you dont pay attention to any cricket that doesnt concern Pakistan. Feel the fast-ness lol, what are you on ?

it's a shame Shane Bond is getting all these injuries i think he would have been one of the great fasties at the moment...

Yes, they are only words, and unfortunately for you, Shoaib hasnt performed that actions to back up them words.
Shoaib's career has been plagued with injuries, controversies, and accusations of bad attitude.
In a interview he said, when it was the years of his peak, when he would have been fastest, most wicket taking, he was banned, accused of "chucking", he was mentally so down that he would stay in a room for weeks and weeks.
It was Incredible to see him back! Which makes him a legend for me.

Yes, but he's done nothing in the past 18months to make him stand out above anyone in the world. Lee and Steyn have performed much much better in the last 18months, Lee took 28 wickets in 4 test matches this year, i doubt Shoaib has takent that many in the past 18 months in both forms of the game. Personally i'd give your argument up Usy, you've been proven wrong on so many occassions and on so many levels.
whehh? he just returened after 14 months for India series, which he nearly won us, The only match India won was first test match and that was the only match shoaib looked so good. I blame the other 10 players who did not do their part.

Yeh, he took 9 wickets in 3 tests, hardly the worlds best. Brett Lee took 28 in 4 tests. Thats miles above Akhtar. As for Dale Steyn, he's taken 23 in his last 3 tests. How many more stats do you need for me to prove that Shoaib isnt the best in the world atm ?

Thats my point, used to be. We're not talking about the past, how many times do we have to tell you ? The thread title is "The Worlds Best Fast Bowler At The Moment". You can contest it as much as you want, but i feel that there would be very few, if any people that would agree with you that Shoaib is the best in the world At The Moment. As proven by the above stats, Steyn and Lee are a level above the other quicks in the world, Steyns had an amazing 2007, and Lee's amount of wickets in 4 tests is unbelieveable. Shoaib just isnt capable of competing with them atm, and i dont think he'll ever get back to the level that Lee and Steyn are currently at.
