May 5th 2007 - Bloody nora! The morning after my man of the match performance against Sussex sees a fax sent through to me. It was a list of the season's bowling statistics from across the LVCC County Championship. I was amazed to discover that I was the leading wicket taker in the country with an impressive 17, although Murali was hot on my collar with 16. As if that wasn't enough, I also have the best strike-rate in the country with me taking a wicket approximately every 16.24 balls and the icing on the cake was my unbelievable average of only 4.25 runs per wicket!
I'm very much a team player but I can't hide my delight after seeing these stats.
The most important thing for me however, is this;
Top of the pile; Laying our demons of last year to rest.
I don't care how I perform as long as we stay where we are.
