After setting a first innings total of 214 and having them 5/90 yesterday im extremly annoyed that they got to 209

The batting conditions overhead did improve but wouldnt the pitch detorating even that out?

Im a bit worried about the tactics for tomorrow battign seems to be much eaiser and Ray Nicholls is dominating after the loss of an early wicket. The two currently batting are most likely going to be my openers for the rest of the season and my prediction of this partnership changing the game seems to of come true.

End of Over 17 (6 runs). The Top Class Kids: 76-1, runrate=4.47 (1st Inn: 216-10)
Lead by 83 runs. (Kalamata CC 209-10)
Gordon 9-2-37-0
Nicholls* 44 (48 balls)
Buchan 21 (46 balls)
Last Wicket: Mattheus c. Tate b. Lescott 1 (FOW: 10/1)

Buchan is batting slow because of the orders I set going into Day 2 expecting batting to be very difficult. Nicholls who had the same type of orders is scoring at a strike rate of 90l and making the pitch look like its hard and fast

At this stage I think we might just barely get into day 3.

Mighty Mongooses are dominating!!! Good work Angy

End of Over 62 (9 runs). The Top Class Kids: 261-3, runrate=4.21 (1st Inn: 216-10)
Lead by 268 runs. (Kalamata CC 209-10)
Gordon 17-2-60-0
Dennis* 53 (83 balls)
Buchan 102 (187 balls)

Awesome batting from Buchan and Dennis has continued where Nicholls left off but I have no idea what I should declare at tomorrow and what bowling tactics to go with!

How much of a pitch change would you expect from days two to three? On a slow track might I add

Whoops both my openers ended on 97. Ray really gets nervous when he gets to 90 and Steele declared on himself :p

Damn, Griffo, I set my declaration to 1200! I forgot to change her...

Stack run out 598

Look at that for a score! Move over Brian Charles Lara, your First Class record is broken! Look at how many sixes he hit as well...

Total (162.0 overs, 3 wickets declared.) 1212

Oh and Hayden Knight, my 18 year old got 11-24 for the match (Yes, they are his bowling figures).

Hoped to bowl out my opponent cheaply, in the first innings, but it didn't happen, their last 2 decent players scored runs and they reached 403-2, and declared. I declared on 408-3, in the hope I could do better with the ball second time, and should be able to save the game easily if I need to.

4.6 . Alder to Oboyle
Oboyle does well to dig the yorker out, but no run can be taken as the fielder swoops in and collects cleanly.
4.5 W Alder to Grimes
A perfect yorker from Alder sends Grimes's middle stump cartwheeling across the ground.
4.4 . Alder to Grimes
Lift and left alone. Basson fields.
4.3 W Alder to Laird
Edged and gone. Laird doesn't wait for the umpire to raise his finger, he knows he's nicked it.
4.2 . Alder to Laird
Incredible ball by Alder. A harsh change of pace, as he bowls a deadly accurate slower ball yorker. Laird just kept it out that time!!!
4.1 . Alder to Laird
Laird lets the ball from Alder go straight through to Basson behind the stumps, harmless delivery.

This 2-wicket maiden from Alder has really put the pressure on.

End of Over 1 (Maiden). Witham Wickets: 0-2, runrate=0.00 (1st Inn: 120-10)
Trail by 582 runs. (Briggs Bullets 702-3 dec)
Vusi 1-1-0-2
Dann* 0 (0 balls)
Aulak 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Scott b. Vusi 0 (FOW: 0/2)
Yawn...I purposely set my decleration total high so the game would go into tomorrow, but looks like thats gone out of the window now!

14.5 W Alder to Oboyle
A perfect yorker from Alder sends Oboyle's middle stump cartwheeling across the ground.

End of Over 15 (11 runs). Jetplane Landing: 55-3, runrate=3.67 (1st Inn: 403-2 dec)
Lead by 50 runs. (Old Wulfs 408-3 dec)
Alder 8-2-31-3
Gillespie* 3 (1 balls)
Duncum 28 (38 balls)

I'm starting to get quite excited now :p Maybe my first ever FC win! I envy people with decent teams in easy leagues....Briggsey, Justin...

29.1 W Dodd to Gillespie
Powerful shot. Alas, the bat doesn't connect to the ball and it's top edged. Basson has a long time to position himself for the simple catch.

That one's been quite a long time coming. 10 overs left today after this one, I reckon I need them 7 down at the close at least.

30.6 W Stone to Cunningham
Brilliant fielding by Mason. He backpedalled a long way and has caught him.

5 down now, they're 106 ahead.

Got another tailender...

32.5 W Stone to Pennant
Oh, what a catch! Basson takes a brilliant catch after a hard cut shot from Pennant. They're amongst the hardest of catches to take from spinners.

...but also they're best player who got 190-odd i their first innings and has been holding this one together. 50k BTR and a wage of nearly 30k, nice scalp for Dodd :)

33.1 W Dodd to Duncum
Heath takes a great bat and pad catch at silly point.

My league is so easy I could play my 2nd team and still go up. Its so sad because I want to be challenged in FC!

Oh well, I guess ill have to wait until next season and the dizzy heights of IV.

I always wonder why I include Carrington in my bowling attack then I remember how well he does in the second innings, after my declaration stuffed up I was a bit worried but I got all out from slogging with my tail and now it seems to be just a matter of time.

End of Over 41 (3 runs). Kalamata CC: 128-6, runrate=3.12 (1st Inn: 209-10)
Trail by 198 runs. (The Top Class Kids 216-10 & 319-10)
Carrington 11-0-38-4
Rigby* 30 (51 balls)
Tate 10 (14 balls)

Would love to see Carrington get new best figures, its weird that the bowlers I set as aggresive today have done almost nothing but yet in the first innings they went well

And that's the end of the match. The Top Class Kids won by 171 runs.

Really happy with this win, probably won more because of my strategy rather than player ability. The batsmen firing in the second innings definately helped

In the ratings I had a better top order and better spinners, not much of a difference but a big difference in the result

Back to making a spreadsheet for Jordan....

41.4 W Alder to Mackay
Someone call the paramedics, that's gone straight down the throat of Stiles!

43.4 W Alder to Loyal
That delivery held up a fraction off the wicket and Loyal spoons the simplest of catches to Fieldwick at cover.

Took the 2 required wickets this morning without any more runs being scored.

End of Over 44 (Maiden). Jetplane Landing: 129-10, runrate=2.93 (1st Inn: 403-2 dec)
Lead by 124 runs. (Old Wulfs 408-3 dec)

Nive 5-for for Alder. 125 to win my first ever FC game :)
