Cricket Academy Version 0.0.73 Discussion

Hopefully people understand and get on the right path
Don't want to go too off-topic, but would like to add my views on this. The key here is education. Many people in India don't even realize what they are doing is wrong. It might be a shocker and hard to understand for someone not in such environment, but that is really the case with most of the people in countries like India, Pakistan etc. Making people realize that not only is this unethical but it can also result in serious crime and equally serious penalties, will ensure the upcoming generation don't fall into such pits. Apologize for being off-topic, we can resume our discussion of world premiere.

Yeah absolutely, really hope this time Indians BUY the game and erase the piracy from the country..Its slowly moving towards that direction and hopefully it goes away totally..

I was actually hurt seeing India's name with piracy in that IGN article...Its not a thing one would like to read...Its a country's name being affected more than anything..Hopefully people understand and get on the right path..
sorry for going a bit off topic but i don't think piracy in india has increased because of the mentality of indian gamers.
more or less it has been affected by the country's economic condition and difference in foreign exchange rates
even i used to buy games when i was a kid upto Rs.1000 but now even the pre order cost is nearly 5000 so i've stopped buying games from a long time and even u know that 5000 is not an amount that every non earning person in india will have in his pocket just to buy a game of his liking

Not going to say more than this one post, if you can afford the computer that can run the game (or console) then you can afford the game. Piracy is systemic in India, piracy is a way of life, I have seen it first hand - we launched without DRM as we wanted to have faith and trust, that trust was burnt so badly in India that we introduced DRM that everyone in the world must now cope with.

@BigAntStudios : Something that hasn't been mentioned (by press releases and the limited reading I have done on the forum) is the fielding aspect of the game. I assume that you guys have obviously worked on it, but can we expect some variation with the fielding.

(i.e The fitter players (e.g Jadeja,Kohli,Guptill etc.) get the ball in flatter and quicker at the stumps whereas the poorer fielders make a bit more of a mess or have a more "loopy throw"- similar aspect can be applied to running between the wickets (e.g Dhoni is crazy between the wicket compared to say Hafeez etc.))

Another thing regarding the fielding is the boundary aspect. When running after the ball in DB14, quite often the players would step over or slide into the boundary.

On a different point, seen a lot of demo videos using the new updates. The game looks unbelievably promising. Can't wait to download the demo as soon I have finished my stupid dissertation proposal.

P.S. I have trying to be d**k about the fielding, just pointing out something that has come to mind a few times when playing DB14.

that trust was burnt so badly in India
Please don't blame INDIA only for all that! As a legit Indian Gamer, it hurts badly!
Games mostly been getting pirated in South Asian Countries including India. Pirates are there in every corner of the world. Those who don't want to let go 5000 INR to have the game they like and those who lacks that "Moral Ethics" that piracy is "Crime"; will do that any day! I partially agree with Indian mentality thing but just think about this in right way.... "If you get something for free which others are paying few bucks on, don't you feel like having it for free and being smart?"

Those who believe I'm here supporting piracy... then just.... Burn!

EDIT: Not indented to go into an war of pointless discussion. I also have this one post going off topic! :)

good work .. make it drm .. :D

Yea I agree even if you have launch the game for 500Bucks people will still go for the pirated version costing 100 bucks , Its the mentality of South East Asia and this mentality is due to poor economic conditions and change in priorities(when it comes to purchasing luxury goods) compare to western countries.

No, 500 rs is not even a big freaking deal to say for Indians. I have seen many people spend more then that on outside food. So if you give me an excuse you cannot afford an original game of 500rs then thats a big bucket of shit. Pirating or downloading Pirated game is just a freaking excuse for lazy/dumb people. People should seriously look into themselves and ask what the hell am I doing? 500rs seriously? I cannot 500rs for a game.

Comprehension problem?I was just highlighting the fact, The thing is people in these countries prefer Good Foods , Expensive clothing ,Smart Phone and DSLRs as luxury goods compare to games (which they can get for much much cheaper rates)

Exciting 2 weeks coming up! Still remember the last time when Matt attended the premiere and posted how he hit a six off the scoop! Feels like yesterday xD
