I'll give you a tip on this, go to BB code editor, copy everything and paste in any text based editor like notepad go to edit then find and replace for this thing. :)

Hey wait? Wasnt I managing Canada? Also, why is my name not in the all time list of managers? @VC the slogger

Looks like you're right. I must have forgotten to update it in the index last time I managed this, and then forgot that I had forgotten when I tagged the incumbent managers in the thread. If you're willing to continue with the Canadians that'd be great, then we could get this moving along a lot quicker.

Why not

Also, why is my name not in the all time list of managers? @VC the slogger

As for this, you managed the Canadians for only one match in my initial attempt at 1906 Games in the round-robin format, and lost. Since I'll be re-doing it in the knockout format this time, that match no longer counts and therefore will not be included in the all-time stats.

As a matter of fact, the stats taken from the upcoming matches will also not count as official Olympic results because they didn't in real life either. This is meant as more of an unofficial farewell of sorts to the greats of the so-called "Golden Age of cricket" such as Victor Trumper, Monty Noble, Bart King, Aubrey Faulkner etc who are all either retired or deceased in the official timeline of this league which is currently the year 1932. Once we finish this tournament and return to the official timeline, all Olympic results will be taken into account while doing the all-time stats as is the norm.

Any team left?
Or for co?

Would you like to co-manage Belgium? Their manager hasn't found much time to post lately it seems, and I know the feeling.

Following Johan Schröder's explosive start at the top, Julius Hisgen provided some much needed stability from No 3 with 43 off 111 balls. However, the latter's dismissal triggered a collapse that saw the Netherlands lose their last 7 wickets for the addition of just 27 runs. Only time will tell if that can prove defendable in these conditions.

The match looked to be in the bag for Egypt with Herbert Carver looking in fine touch with the bat, but a Dutch bowling attack led by the legendary Carst Posthuma and quite ably supported by former county cricketer Adolph von Ernsthausen simply refused to accept their fate. The latter bowled John Burrough through the gate with the scores level at 155 before the batsman could strike the winning run, thereby resulting in the match being tied. Netherlands, who maintained a marginally higher run rate than their opponents during their innings were awarded a quarter-final berth ahead of Egypt, with the usual tiebreaker of lesser wickets down being rendered unusable as a result of both teams having lost all their wickets during their innings.

Noooooooo ! This is the second time we are getting a tie. And we couldn't progress because we played 3 extra deliveries ? That's a bummer.

There was Jack Raphael, and then there was the rest of Belgium's lineup. A one-man army with the bat if ever there was one.

France, who possessed a top three boasting of two genuinely world class players in Lionel Palairet and Bernard Bosanquet, had no trouble whatsoever in gunning down their target of 146. They were through to the quarter-finals to face Great Britain, the team that humiliated them by a record 278-run margin during their previous encounter at the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris.

Player rarities

In each squad, players have been marked with these icons to give you a fair idea of their playing skills and overall usefulness to your team.

:purpo: - Legend. Used for the players that are undoubtedly the best of the lot.
:goldo: - Gold. Used for players with a high level of consistency and ability to deliver during key moments.
:redo: - Ruby. Used for players that are extremely talented and can play in a way no one else can replicate.
:slvo: - Silver. Used for players that aren't as talented as their Gold/Ruby/Legend contemporaries, but still capable of holding their own against the best in business.
:bro: - Bronze. Used for players that are a level below Silver. They are more likely to put in good performances than players from the Sapphire/Crystal category.
:blueo: - Sapphire/Crystal. Used for players that are inexperienced or with a lower skill set compared to those from a higher category. They could either put in good performances or fail miserably.

Statistics

To be updated later.

Explanation on pitch types

Damp/Sticky - Massively in favor of bowlers and an absolute nightmare to bat on, unless you're Victor Trumper.
Evenly balanced - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines.
Green - A lot of movement on offer, which makes it ideal for bowlers capable of swinging the ball. Quite regular to find in most European countries.
Hard - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way.
Dry/Slow - Ideal for slow and spin bowlers as the name suggests. Sometimes quite difficult to bat on.
