He bowled the the flighted offspiner and Silva going for the cover drive missed the turn and was cleaned bowled . Silva had to go back to pavilion for 27 of 29 balls . Sri Lanka were in some spot of bother at 170/4 .
S.Gavaskar : What a delivary from Shewag to get rid of Chamara Silva . Chamara cant believe it but he has to go . India have got their breakthrough .
Next man in was was inexperience Chamara Kapugedera . Zaheer Khan was not bought on for his second spell . Both Sehwag and Zaheer Khan reduced the run rate by not giving more than 5 per over . Zaheer Khan went for just 7 runs in his 2 overs . Harbhajan Singh was bought into the attack again by Dhoni . The pressure was mounting on Sangarkkara as the Sri Lankans failed to score boundaries . But Sangarkkara kept his calm and went for the singles . But finally pressure got the better of Kapugedera . Kapugedera went for the slog sweep of Sehwag's full toss but instead got a top edged which went in the hands of Harbhajan Singh at deep mid wicket . Sehwag got his second wicket in his last over . Kapugedera departed for 16 of 27 balls and Sri Lankans were in trouble at 190/5 .
H.Bhogle : Kapugedera sweeps Sehwag and there fielder there , Harbhajan takes an easy catch and struggling Kapugedera has to go back to the pavilion . Sri Lanka are in trouble .
New man in was Chaminda Vaas . Sri Lanka were in deep trouble another wicket over here and India would have upper hand in the game . Job for Vaas would be giving Sangarkkara the strike .

Dhoni knew the pitch had a lot for the spinners and so he decided to continue with Harbhajan Singh from one end and Virender Sehwag from another . The two batsman out their were struggling to find boundaries and they were very cautious about the turn that Harbhajan and Sehwag got from the pitch . The two batsman were happy rotating the strike . After 32 overs Dhoni gave the ball to his fast bowlers . Praveen Kumar who was very expensive in his 6 was given the ball . But still he was expensive as he went for 24 in his next 2 overs . Only one boundary was scored in his spell . A good looking cover drive from Chamara Silva . Sehwag was brough into the attack again and he struck in his first ball . Since Sangakkara is still in there, Sri Lanka have a chance of putting up 250-280 on the board and that will be a good score.

It took a brilliant 87 run partnership between settled wicket keeper Batsman Kumar Sangakkara and bowler Chaminda Vaas to set the Indians a target of 277 in 50 overs . Sri Lankans scored 74 in the last ten overs . Both the batsman played their natural game against the spinners as well as the quick bowlers . Chaminda Vaas started his innings with some singles and giving the strike to Sangakkara who went for the boundaries . But as Vaas settled in he to went for the big shots . The running between the two was excellent as they converted the ones into twos . Dhoni used all his 4 main bowlers in this ten overs but no one did shine . Praveen Kumar was expensive as usual . Zaheer Khan was a bit unlucky , RP Singh went for many in his last 4 overs while Harbhajan bowled pretty well . But the show stealer was obviously Kumar Sangakkara who reached his century with a delightful flick of his pads towards fine leg for a single . The whole crowd stood up gave him a big applause . It was hard worked century for the keeper who had really rescued his side from trouble .
S.Gavaskar : Brilliant innings from the inform Kumar Sangakkara . One of the best I have seen under pressure and who knows better than Sangakkara to handle pressure .
In the last 3 overs the two batsman increased their run rate by scoring some boundaries . Praveen Kumar gave away 14 in his lat 2 overs while Zaheer Khan went for 9 in his lats two . Harbhajan went for 16 in last two overs out of which 10 were scored in the last over of the innings and RP Singh went for 33 in his lat 4 overs . Chaminda Vaas played brilliantly under pressure as he never played a risky shot except the one he play of the last ball of the innings which resulted his wicket . Vaas was caught by Yuvraj Singh at mid on of the last ball of the innings bowled by Harbhajan Singh for 29 of 35 balls .
H.Bhogle : Indians have finally got some consolation from this partnership . Vaas is caught by Yuvraj at mid on of the last ball of the innings . Sri Lanka end their innings with 276/6 . Kumar Sangakkara without doubt the hero of the innings .

Great Presentation Shantanu great story deserves to be the story of the year
Erm...no offence to shantanu but I don't think so. He has only just started this story.
Apart from that this as a good start shantanu. Please keep this story up!

Great batting from Sangakkara! He should have got some support from someone else but Sri Lanka have posted a reasonable score here. Now it's time for Mendis to tangle the Indians.
