Dec 3-7: 2nd Test: Australia v England at the Adelaide Oval

I saw that dismissal coming. Clarke however is key. Getting to the pitch of the ball will negate a lot of threats; the risk of stumping is really only if you don't get there.

That ends a pretty awful game for Ponting. 0 and 9. He's got only 75 runs in 4 innings this series if I'm not mistaken, average of 25.
If he'd been caught by Amir at Hobart, he'd have gone nearly 18 months without a century.

Yea could see it coming given the one earlier which just missed the edge. Ponting looked really good so was hoping he would get over it but not to be.

Clarke has started positively, he needs a knock to silence the critics.

Broad's bowling a good length, but with his field to Clarke I would have guessed he'd either be very full or short. Nice shots from Clarke though.

So nearly a C&B, and so nearly a runout too :p

Good stuff from England at the moment.

What a way to bring up the 50, marvelous straight drive. Now needs to get past the nervous 50-99 stage, need that big 100 from him today.

Beautifully bowled. If Finn finds his length he can be a handful.

Watson has played quite well so far.

That seems to be our problem, get to 50 but there always seems to be a ball that has the batsmen name on it before the 100.

That's beautiful. Right line, right length, straightens a touch off the pitch.

Hussey and Clarke. Quite possibly the two most dangerous batsmen at the moment from England's point of view. Clarke has looked in brilliant touch at the moment and Hussey the man in form. Both play spin well, so Swann's got quite a task on his hand.

We might see Jimmy back into the attack for a spell against these two.

England have fielded quite excellently too today.

3 down and 7 more to go!
Getting this pair out early is vital for englands success.

Impressive pace by Finn clocked 144km/h recently and now consistently in the 140s. Feels like Flintoff all over again with this reverse swing around the wicket.

There are some heavy storms at Adelaide already and a further big sheet coming across the Yorke peninsula to mop up any survivors.

Tea.

That was a pretty solid session. Very good to watch towards the end with Swann starting to get some purchase, Clarke and Hussey batting very well, Finn getting some reverse.

One more wicket is what England need at the moment. Will be interesting to see how they go about getting it.
