Don Bradman 17 PC Now Available - General Discussion

As a console user and a cricket gaming fan I look forward to a successful PC release. @Fissionmailed , @karolkarol are you guys going for the PC version? If yes, I look forward to hearing your first impressions and detailed reviews :)

Sure am. The internet speeds in rural Scotland are what you might call patchy though. Hopefully I'll get it downloaded tonight.

I'll certainly share my impressions.

Wish they had preload option

This.

It's crazy. It's there on the store. I want to at least buy it and get it downloaded. At least of all the digital stores, Steam has the fastest downloads.

I can't believe...consumers actually encourage DRM?

This may have something to do with it

I'm thinking about this too. I haven't checked the time difference, but I think it will be out at like 3 am here. I don't know how long it will take to download but I'm working all day and want to be able to set it up straight away when I get home. Hopefully people will be able to post about the improvements and fixes so far to keep me going tomorrow.
It'll be in India at 1:30 AM, there's a 2 and a half hour difference between Hong Kong and India!

I'm from the UK originally but I'm in Thailand these days, so my time zone's pretty much in the middle of those two, haha!

You'll get it at 3 then, like you originally said! I really thought you were Indian :P

Haha, no worries. I should probably sort my profile out at some point! Can't see myself getting up at 3 when I have to get up at 6 anyway though. I might just have to download when I come home tomorrow evening annoyingly. I'll see what happens. Either way, looking forward to starting to get the game set up tomorrow night. Hope the duplicate logos have been resolved or the Academy is going to be a nightmare.

The issue is, with the DBC14 DRM in any case, if the Steam network is down then the game thinks the computer is offline and you can't play. I had this issue two or three times during the steam sales this year. Hopefully the DRM is not tied to the Steam network in DBC17

Why would honest , paying customers have issues with DRM?
It only really disadvantages pirates
So what happens when honest, paying customers don't have Internet access and suddenly honest, paying customers can't play the games that honest, paying customers have paid for? How does it disadvantage the Pirates? DRM has not stopped piracy at all, not even a dent.

Which happened about two weeks ago.

It's one thing for the developer to be all for it but I can't believe that a consumer could possibly actively encourage it.

who is playing DBC17 - which requires a fairly high end machine - and doesn't have internet access or even a 3G mobile for the boot?

@Ross has always said that once they put in the DBC14 the piracy fell of a cliff. He's also said clearly that if DBC17 gets pirated on the same scale, that's it for cricket on PC.

i'd actively encourage anything that gave us more games on PC in the future, even though at present my PC barely runs 17 I would expect to getting a new one at some point... and i hope to play dbc19 on it.
