Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

VGChartz are totally unreliable, by 2000% sometimes, unfortunately their numbers are a guess based on leaderboard entries. The best data is not available to the public, where they track retailers actuals, and even then the figures can be misleading as not all retailers sign up (ie in the US Walmart do not give anyone their data).

No console/PC Cricket game has ever sold 1 Million units, if they did then EA would still be making it. My understanding is that 800,000 is the best so far and that is from EA's internal data.

if this game really plays out well , like how its been mentioned, it should easily surpass the 1 million mark.:yes. here i and 5 of my friends are buying,so only 999,994 more to go :p :D .. wishing you and your team all the very best :cheers :D

Deal is that majority of console owners are more interested in Football than Cricket, though I sincerely believe it has a lot to do with the fact that we actually have 'never' had a good cricket game in the last 10-12 years!!! Games like IC2010, AC09 and even cricket 07 would entice the hardcore cricket fans like us (though even we sold that game pretty soon after purchasing it).....but for general gamers, those games really did not even come close to real cricket, nor did they provide enough challenge for them to take it seriously.

Add to it the fact, not even a single cricket game provided a good balanced online mp for everyone to enjoy!! AC09's online matches were total run fests where you could just come down the wicket and hit every ball for a four or a six!! Even if the ball was bowled on the leg side, the batsman would come down the track and hit it for a six over deep cover!! As for IC2010....dont think I should even mention online here!!

Thats why I am very very excited for BA Cricket!! This really looks like a game that could convert even non-lovers of cricket!!! This game looks to be at par with any current gen game, and with the gameplay mechanics revealed, it will provide a great balance for all kinds of players to enjoy!! On top of that, having a co-op multiplyer is one of the best features in this game, as this would mean you could involve even those players in online matches who are not that good in the game or for whom this is the first cricket game, as earlier such people would get mauled in online matches and they would never return back.....but with online team play even these people would enjoy playing as the outcome of the match is not totally dependent on them and so they can actually have fun!!!

I really do think that this game would atleast make a lot of these Indian console owners thing good about and 'respect' a cricket game!!!

Angad, my guess is you haven't played any tournaments with PC member's here. Online tournaments here on PS3 was the most challenging cricket that I have played. Need to give credit where its due. Ac2009 didn't had lot of features and offline play was run fest but online the game and the code was amazing

Couldn't agree more! I never lost a game when I scored more than 100 in a T20 on AC09. Run scoring was quite difficult if you played with good players though it became repetitive with same tactics and field positions being used by the good online players.

Unless there were rules here not to come down the wicket, I cannot believe batting was that much challenging!! Every single delivery (short, full, outside off, outside leg) could be hit for six above covers if you charged down the wicket and timed it!! The tournaments we played in IVG were all about who can score at less than 20 r.p.o :p!! And trust me....we tried everything.... including changing bowling markers at the last moment. It worked against players who hadnt got the timing, but this glitch was surely there!!

(Though to be fair, only a couple of us got the timing to be able to do that consistently!! :p)

The old EAP (EA Partners) allowed that if you had a volume >1,000,000 units, you could bring them a gold master and they distributed it, EAP was unfortunately disbanded earlier this year.

Since your discussing EAP.Respawn ent still under EAP for titanfall, hows that possible,or it is some special arrangement for them as the game will hit no matter what since it is from old cod devs?

Without "house rules" it was even more challenging to score runs online. Against better players charging out every time led to being all out for a poor score.

Given the time it takes to make games I expect EAP will have a number of legacy titles but no new ones.

will it b the last update for CA Ross ?:spy

Just checked the classification board to see if anything popped up about the game but no luck yet : (

I'm not that silly :)

----------

You could get the name if I was that silly, but it's not like anyone now believes that Classification = Release... I think I debunked that a while ago when we had the other guys claiming that the Classification meant their game was ready, I think Biggs and Jamie even had tweets about it :)

Haha true Ross but we cricket fanatics have to cover all bases just to make sure you dont slip up :p

Why work so hard to find the name? Just keep asking ross and he will let it slip in either 17 mins or 170 minutes ... He is weak.

....and I thought I was improving :p

This mechanism will us play a proper test match which we never had......Now wait for the bad delivery and hit it for some runs......For the first time I think there will be a "DRAW" possible in a test match [Which I never had.....Max 3days and the match is finished].......:yes
