Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

Hey Ross,
For the next version of this game, please put in some banter around the batsman, e.g. keeper shouting "Well bowled <nickname (Bhajji)>", fielders around the bat trying to comment on the batsman's technique, or previous scores, or the match situation.

You can infact connect it to the bowler's confidence meter. If the confidence is high, there would be more banter, if it is low then less banter. This way we can shut those players up by playing attacking cricket :)!

Lets get past game one first! They aren't going to fit everything into the first game of a series. Wait to see what is in the game then give suggestions :P

This probably won't get implemented, but I really like this. It keeps the match dynamic, and true to the circumstances. :thumbs

What will the unlicensed players be like in the original game then? Will they have accurate abilities as their real-world counterparts?

I know they cant fit everything into the first game....but based on the info received so far, their first game has a lot of potential for having such kind of implementations! No harm in giving our suggestions for the next game, as in all probability, they would be planning for their next game almost immediately after the release of the first.

The suggestion I gave above is not really difficult for them to implement (I would think), as they already have loads of nicknames in their commentary database, so all they need is to add some sentences in different accents like Indian, English, Aussie etc, and then combine these sentences with the nickname of the player in question. Finally they need to combine this commentary with the bowler's momentum system :)!

As I said, they already have the base in place.....all these are really mere add-ons that would add to the authentic experience :)! This would also go along with the no-hud approach from BigAnt as it would assist the batting side in understanding when the bowling team is on top (momentum wise) and would thus add to the tension felt by the batsman in playing out the situation.

Is a full game PC beta out of the question? People have had issues with CA and are bound to with the full game too. Even if we had to purchase the game to get into the beta, many would.

Obviously it would be a content limited beta and only available until launch... but would surely get a lot of bugs and issues fixed before release.

There will be a closed beta happening in their offices. If you live in Melbourne, you are lucky.

While people had some problems with the CA Beta, generally it's been because they need Pixel Shader 3.0 and/or more memory. It is a Beta - it has not had the testing that the full blown game has.

There won't be a demo version of the game.
