Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

It would be good if they could implement that into the game, also, from a personal point of view, if you could here the barmy army singing their hearts out at the various grounds that would be great!!!
As long as they don't actually switch the sound and end up with the England football band rather than the cricket one, then I'm fine. You don't hear them too much at home games anyway although they are great away from home. This might be getting complicated now but I wonder if the travelling sound will be factored into the crowd noise and ambience. Sri Lanka vs India is a very different atmosphere to Sri Lanka vs England.

I think it was mentioned around the time of AC09 that they attempted to license the Barmy Army - but apparently they wanted a huge amount to be included, so the idea was dropped. Would probably make it tough to include anything that tried to emulate it as well.

That said, they do have a fully licensed barmyarmy in the PlanetCricket team.

I didn't know that. You'd think they'd jump at the chance!!
IC10 had different crowd sounds for different places, albeit pretty poor, in India it sounded like monkey porn as the bowler approached, and their was this incredibly annoying sound bite during England v windies I think of this posh bloke saying something like "hello Penelope how are you keeping"

There doesn't appear to be much discussion about the game on the forum at the moment. As you say, people have run out (no pun intended) of things to say about the game and the quality of posts has taken a nose dive.
Backbiting, racism, offensive remarks seem to be topics of the day.
Most of what is being posted at the moment breaks the forum rules.

lol yep. See it all the time esp when there's a long lead time to the game coming out. Saw it especially with BF3.

Just watching Aust demolish Eng in the first one dayer...163 run opening stand between Finch and Warner...mmmm....can you think of a better opening partnership?

England inept yet again. No passion or fight.
I'm sorry, but I really disagree with statements like this. How are we supposed to know how they are feeling or how up for it they are? Just because a team is playing badly doesn't mean they lack passion. Some of the greatest and passionate players of all time have looked aloof, so these sorts of comments don't make sense for me.

Back on topic, I hope that this is reflected in DBC14. Reasonably small grounds filled till day 4 in England, and 30,000 fans at the MCG equivalent for days 2-4 would look interesting as it still looks sparse despite the number of people. Although I imagine it might be quite difficult to have different crowds for different days and different match situations.

It would be a nice touch if it could be implemented, less people for the morning session of a test compared to the second session or 4 people all day for a county game for example

Mods would it be possible to keep the DBC threads for what they are supposed to be for and moving the "real" cricket posts to where they should be. People get flamed for asking questions that have already been answered but there is a lot of chaff to get through to find the content of these threads which has declined rapidly these last few weeks

Why are they playing with red ball?? Bug or you can select the colour of the ball in the game??
Maybe they chose the ball colour to be red before they started the game?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read the second part of your question. No it's not a bug.

Jack Hobbs and Herbert Sutcliffe will always remain the greatest opening pair of all time. They were (In my opinion(which is based on fact and the opinions of the best cricketing minds in History)) two of the six greatest batsmen of all time and averaged an opening stand of 87.81, the next best being Hobbs and Rhodes 61.31 and the best without Hobbs: Lawry and Simpson with 60.94.

That's fine if you disagree but I think you can tell if a team lacks passion and fight. They need to start getting angry.
They are also lacking basic cricketing skills. Poor, short, leg side bowling, bad fielding etc, etc.
They are getting quite good at being gracious in defeat though.
