Emerging Players tournament 2010

Good stuff from Dhawan, Parthiv, Pandey and Unadkat there.

Glad to see Pandey in the runs after a poor tour to England.

Also, I expect Rahane and Pujara will do well in the List A matches, more than the T20s.

So we were thrashed, in particular Neil Wagner was thrashed :facepalm

I don't rate Neil Wagner what so ever, he's a better limited overs bowler then what he showed today but overall he's fairly average. Why he's even in the A team I'll never know. He's taken his 40 odd wickets for Otago at just under 40 and has never before impressed whilst playing for New Zealand A, he was shocking during last years tournament.

The batsmen did a fairly good job tbf though, that Australian bowling attack is seriously talented (well the quicks are anyway)

They should have Trent Boult or Corey Anderson there instead

Agreed. But New Zealand cricket being as cheap as they are decided "Hey, why spend thousand's of dollars sending the A team over to England when we can just take them across the tasman for next to nothing"

Yeah he was definately over hyped after his first domestic season. I think he has the ability to do well but he done nothing impressive at all last season and he's kept that up today. He's got pace and swing but needs to work on his control. He was especially ineffective in first-class cricket last season as well.

He has the abilty to be a good bowler sure, but he isn't fast enough to get away with being that inconsistant. From what I've heard he loses his head a lot and really starts spraying the ball all over the place striving for that extra pace. In terms of other left armers around the country I'd rate Andy McKay, Mitchell McClenaghan, Trent Boult and even Michael Bates higher then him.

Just saw the scorecard of India vs South Africa and oh man, India won by 102 runs. Totally thrashed them.

Unadkat really impressed again and man all the bowlers were instrumental.:hpraise
Dhawan, Patel, Ojha all impressed with the bat too.

Wow, SA really not looking good. Although they do have some members of South Africa A's limited overs side, they could use some of the first class players. Undakat again. Remember the name when he's a has-been in 18 months.

NZ might not have bowled well, but setting 160+ is mildly impressive. It's worth noting that Pomersbach got dropped immediately after hitting Wagner for 4 boundaries. The problem is not so much the runs as the wickets. Nobody else took wickets in the game for NZ and it doesn't matter if they taxed 34 in 2 overs or 34 in 4 overs from Wagner, the AIS would have won easily.

Yep such a waste of a prime opportunity.

Faulkner has really stepped up this tournament, hes doing better than Henriques. Dunk really looks to be a promising keeper especially for T20. Pomersbach seems to be murdering the bowlers, hopefully he keeps that up to get him back into the National setup. Bowling wise Hazelwood took a bit of a pasting but George was good, those two would have formed one of the biggest opening pairs in history.

Ryan Carters is keeping.

Pomersbach was keeping the AIS out of trouble with 55, but might have gotten them back into it by getting out. Maddinson has quietly played himself in, batting at six today.

When is NZ playing India in this tournament?

Match got abandoned before play could even start today, in the India vs NZ match.

AIS vs SA was also a no result, but, AIS did bat, with Pomersbach in the runs yet again with a 55.

AIS vs India is the final now I think.
