England in India - Oct to Jan 2012/13

Only way India can win the 4th test:

Drop Kohli, hes not cut out for tests unless he's angry at critics
Drop Yuvraj, he's not performing, maybe a side effect of the chemo
Drop Sachin, he's beyond his years and needs to retire
Drop Zaheer, he's too old and fat and slow. Let him eat chocolate and watch the 4th match from his sofa instead.
Drop Ashwin, he's overrated.
Drop Ishant, he lost his bowling a while ago.
Drop Dhoni, his batting, keeping, and captaincy are awful in tests.
Drop Gambhir as he loves fishing outside off stump.
Drop Sehwag as hes too unreliable and lazy.

Keep Ojha and Pujara. Let them bat for all 11 wickets. When bowling, get 9 crowd members to field for India in addition to those two, and let armchair critics bowl along with Ojha if he gets tired. Don't let Pujara field in the slips. And get Dhoni to take away Pujara's shin pads and store them. That's his job for the fourth match.

Oh, and ask Ashish Nehra to come to the field and drop a banana peel for Cook to slip on when taking a single, so he gets injured.

After all that, I think India may be able to tie.

A better option is for the entire stadium to collectively turn around and let one rip when Cook bats, suffocating him from performing well.

I agree with everything you said except dropping Kohli and dropping Sachin. Even though I feel that Sachin should retire, I would not support dropping him under any condition. Also, I think Kohli will come good because he's too good not to.

Why so much hate on Indian openers? They build a solid platform yet the other batsman couldn't do a thing. They both are the only batsman who scored in double figures and that too 49 and 40.

Time for a new coach. It's no coincidence that India decline had come after new coach and maybe time for new captain too.

Yuvraj never performed in tests. Kohli will perform, Zak is still the best we have got.

Not just the coach. The captain too, never been a fan of Dhoni's captaincy in test matches but no its beyond pathetic. He should have resigned after 8-0

:facepalm that is all
Drop Yuvraj, he's not performing, definitely a side effect of the chemo

Happy?

I say fire all of them and just throw 8 year olds against England for the third match and onward. At least those 8 year olds will be good in 12 years. And hey, no one will expect them to win right now. All those losses until they're 18-20 years old will be invaluable experience. And it will be so cute to watch them on tv. When they lose, the entire country would huddle around them in support. :)

Gambhir has runout 2 batsmen in this test. That's gifting England 2 wickets. He hasn't scored big runs in ages, he doesn't bowl, and he isn't a spectacular fielder either.

Sehwag can't score runs outside of India.

Ashwin has forgotten bowl to bowl to take wickets.

Ishant hasn't taken wickets in years.

Yuvraj has been rubbish, which is on par for his Test career to date. Surely there are better batsmen in the side to bat at 6.

MSD is fatigued. Captaincy, keeping and batting are all dipping. I found some stats earlier that show that he can't score runs unless it is in the first innings. Given that he's the keeper, you can forgive him for averaging 20ish with the bat, but his captaincy is lacking inspiration and his keeping is starting to slip. He's tired. He needs a break.

Zak is breaking down.

What is our bench strength like? Rahane, Tiwary, Mukund, Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Raina...hmm. Jadeja has picked up three 300s in Ranji as well.
Almost nothing bowling wise. Yadav, Praveen Kumar...and then?

Beh. Whole team is a shamble atm.

Heads better roll for this.

We expected heads to roll after 8-0. Expect the same team for the 4th test.

Whatever happened to Praveen Kumar? I always wonder when he mysteriously gets dropped. And Munaf Patel isn't seen since his drop after the World Cup. Irfan Pathan? I know he isn't stellar but at least he might be able to help a little with batting and a little with bowling. I mean, you can't really get worse than the bowling figures displayed by India in this match. Can you?

It sucks being an Indian supporter right now - can't even blame the toss since we win tosses all of a sudden :(

@playkid12 - I think you just dropped the entire XI. Bit radical?

It wasn't a serious post. I literally also wrote that Ashish Nehra should come and drop a banana peel on the pitch when Cook is trying to take a single. And that the crowd should collectively turn around and fart when Cook bats to distract him.

All time low from an Indian cricket team on home conditions, made to look like they are playing in England. Such batting giants in the team and no one is taking the responsibility to save their team in home conditions, a really spineless team. It shows how great is Dhoni's captaincy, captain himself can't motivate the team and performs the worst. Dhoni should be dropped from the test team for a while, he is a really stupid captain in test matches.

India's demise started when they started to play over defensively against the spin. They have good players of spin and they should have attacked the English spinners and put them under pressure instead of giving English spinners upper hand over them. Please drop Gambhir, Yuvarj, Dhoni and Zaheer from the team. They ain't International level test players anymore. Bring in-form batsman from the domestic league to the team and also try to find a good back up for Umesh Yadav.

But Sachin is I suppose.

All the players I said are technically flawed but Sachin ain't, once he starting to play positively there will be lot more runs. Currently he lacks the confidence to play his natural game. I don't know why, may be some kind of mental block. He is just one century away from his old self.
