England in India - Oct to Jan 2012/13

Funny how Bresnan and Monty have outbowled (wrt the no:of overs bowled) Jimmy and Swanny and yet ended up 8 wickets shorter than the latter (duo).

I think it's a good thing India are getting bowled out. They were going nowhere in terms of the runrate. This way, at least if England bat and set a target...India will know exactly what they need to get and how many overs they have to chase it in. Need to bowl out England for 250ish now...which isn't impossible if the team is charged up and the pitch helps. England will be under pressure if a wicket or two falls.

Excellent batting from Kohli and Dhoni, leaves the game in balance, still thinking a result is possible!

After a long time England are proving their Test worth dominance in India.
And the difference is Alastair Cook...

Excellent batting by both Kohli and Dhoni. MSD deserved the ton. I am happy that Kohli proved me wrong by scoring a century under pressure in difficult condition. However, they both need to play this like consistently to shut their critics. This match is going toward a draw and India have to bowl really well tomorrow to win this game. I feel that we need to get England out around 170 because if the target goes over 200, it will be difficult to chase it down on this pitch.

Hoping that our 4 spinners can do the job tomorrow.

When will this pitch seriously deteriorate ?There is not even little spin on offer.India need to push on for win.Draw won't do any good. There have been many times in India when a test heading towards a drab draw, suddenly produces a result.
Here is to hoping that our fielders don't drop Cook .

Anyone else think that Dravid and Ganguly are way better commentators than Shastri/Sivaramakrishnan etc ? Could listen to these two all day...very refreshing to hear from people who have been playing the game so recently and can give dressing room insights. Add to the fact that they're solid orators.

India are playing to save the test match guys. This is why Dhoni must go. What is the point of these 20 runs that they`ve scored in the first hour! Any good captain would have declared first thing in the morning. England were justifiably defensive in approach and I would`nt blame it for that. It was our tactics that were baffling. I would have been more logical to come out and score those extra 20 runs in the second innings because England would be under far more pressure if they were to come out and defend a score in the second innings. As it stands at the moment, I don`t see England losing more than 4 wickets today and Day 5 will peter out to a tame draw.

Well done England on your first win in India since 1985!

Only two teams in the history of Test Cricket have declared with a deficit and have gone on to win. MHM.
