England were horrible in the first inning but they have looked solid in the second inning. Cook is playing brilliantly and Compton is also fighting hard. So first session tomorrow will be very important. We need to get Cook out as soon as we can.

Yeah it's too early to say that England are looking in a good position.They are still 200+ runs behind with 2 more days to go.But so far they've done exceptionally well in this innings.I expect more turn in remaining days.If they could somehow manage to survive till the 1st session of Day 5.They'll be in a match saving position

England are in a dreadful position and liable to collapse once they lose a few wickets. They only chance of a draw is to bat long and score 650.
More likely a few quick wickets will lead to an innings victory for India. Too many of the batters have just looked clueless on footwork and shot selection.

Speak for yourself Colin. I think we're in a winnable position here. Compton and Cook smash double tons of as many balls, KP comes in and hits a quick-fire century off 80 odd balls and Trott, Bell, Patel and Prior all chip in with 50's. Samit and Swann open the bowling and skittle India out for below 100. Hello 1-0 England

extremely shocked the way KP & Bell got out. They are class players & one of the best in business. & i am nothing taking away from ojha and aswin.
I felt Dhoni made a wrong calculation there by enforcing the follow-on. Towards the end of that England first innings, they seemed to be a lot at ease playing on that pitch. And the thing is, batting last on this pitch is going to be very hard.
We have done it once to Australia before where we followed-on, scored big and beat Australia. After that famous Eden test, very few teams think of enforcing follow-on, more so in Indian conditions. Hope our bowlers pick quick wickets tomorrow and make sure Dhoni won't rue his decision after the game. England have their backs to the wall, but won't completely rule out an England draw or even a win.

I don't know why people still think that Ian Bell is good against spin, let alone our best player against it. Sure he can come down the track in England when it hardly spins, but as this article shows, he's not that good.
He he... I wasn't influenced by your post. I really feel we should have batted a session or two and set England a daunting second innings target of 550 odd. In Indian pitches, its risky proposition, more so on this good batting wicket, to enforce follow-on. When we beat Australia at Eden in 2001, we weren't among the top teams back then. But England are No.2 in the world right now.
Realistically England have to bat most of tomorrow just to clear the deficit. On that basis they can't really afford to lose more than 3 wickets. Very tall order.

It's hard to find the time to go back that far with so many Aussie victories since then. Will take me a few weeks just to watch the 4-0 from a few months ago!
India's hardly among the top teams even now. South Africa, Australia, England, Pakistan and perhaps even Sri Lanka all ahead of them. England's #2 ranking is clearly on borrowed time and once Aus and Saf conclude their series, England will be a distant 3rd at best with their 3 wins in 11 or so tests since demolishing India 4-0.

Also, fairly confident India would beat Pakistan. We have had a psychological advantage for a few years now.
Would beat Sri Lanka as well. Agreed on the others, though would probably salvage a drawn series at home against Australia and South Africa.

India may have the cure for Pakistan, but right now they're one of the teams I'm very much looking forward to playing since they axed Butt, Aamir and Asif. Definitely feel like they're the team to beat when we're done with South Africa.
Sri Lanka's a bit iffy. Their results haven't been great, but they are still managing to win tests in lost seres. Most of their abysmal results came when the players had not been paid for many months and since then they have been performing pretty well.
