Also don't forget the Mumbai pitch. Which is green pitch. Remember once India VS Aus and how harbajjan restricts the aussies in the 2nd inning for 98 and where they only needed like 7-8 runs. Here is the scorecard of last test match which was played in Mumbai. scorecard And if you see the scorecard basically it's type of mix for sometime seamers and spinner. In the first inning you see that Gillispie and hauritz restrick them to 104. Then second inning harbajan and kartik bowled them for 203. Then India out for 205. Clarke rem 6 wickets taken and 9 runs given away. And finally Harbajjan 5 wickets haul in which we won by 13 runs. So the pitch mainly for both spinners and seamers.

A prime example of how a scorecard should not be read to infer pitch conditions. The ****hede pitch was any color but green. It was brown. It was a dust bowl. It offered nothing for seamers, though seamers were able to get wickets by bowling a good line and inducing bad shots from the batsmen. Apart from that, it was simply a spin bowlers paradise. The ball bounced, turned, kept low, etc. If such a pitch comes up, India would play 3 spinners again and England will be... well, screwed.

What rubbish. :mad :mad :mad :mad It was a turning track which had no assistance for the seamers at all.Sohum is right, all the wickets that seamers got, were thrown away, as the series had already decided. Also they had the mindset before the start of the match, that the pitch won't stay good for too long.

Imran Said.. ?England should use there best, and England got better seamers then there spinner, and using spinners Against India, Indian batsman will welcome that. So they should use there fast bowlers.? And in a way I think Imrans right.

Yes. Its basic logic. When your strength is pace, make use of it in the right way. Get used to the conditions and bowl clever...just like Kapil Dev or Vaas, McGrath etc.

We have some very promising bowlers comign through.

Plunkett can bat very well as he's showed.

Plunkett>Giles.

Yeah I've seen Plunkett batting againts Pakistan. He can bat and Ashley giles can bat too.

Well, pace would be a good choice, but what type of bowler doesn't really matter to our big three- Sachin, Dravid, Laxman. Also don't forget the bludgeoning by Viru today and Gambhir is a specialist opener who is adapted to face the new ball and short bowling. So, basically, you could carry Hick and thorpe as your bowlers and it would make scant difference (:p)
Bring it on!

I think Hoggy and Dizzy could bludgeon on that pitch!

:D

well Hoggy did hit a 4 through the covers in the Ashes, so anything is possible!

When Indian Squad is announced I hope they pick VRV Singh. Can't wait to see him debuting in International and also his pace.

Some help will be needed from the groundsmen also.

I think he should've been in the Pakistan tour. I've heard so many good things about him, but never actually seen him play.
