England in Pakistan

Who will win the ODI Series

England did beat Australia twice in the summer (ODIs) and lost thrice. And England also beat the Aussies in the semi final of the ICC Champions Trophy and the Twenty20 game.

So its not that we're crap in ODIs, but just that we havent managed to be as consistent as in test matches. Expect that to change soon.

Well at least us Aussies have faced the English at their best. The rest of the world hasn't though. :)

Over the past two years, England have beaten

South Africa - Tests(away) and ODIs(home)
Australia - Tests(home)
India - ODIs(Home)
Pakistan - ODIs(Home) and Tests(Away)
New Zealand - Tests(Home)
West Indies - Tests(home and away)
Zimbabwe - Tests(Home), ODIs(Home and Away)
Bangladesh - Tests and ODIs(Home and Away)

More importantly England have lost just one test series since the last Ashes defeat in 2003. Since 2004, we are undefeated.

that record is not that special. when you consider that Austrlia has lost only two series since we lost in Sri Lanka.

No, ofcourse not, it can't be impressive despite it being one of the best runs in English cricket history. How many of the current sides (except Australia) can say they boast the record we have had over the last 2 years and have played to our level? India can't, Pakistan can't, South Africa can't, no one can. Stop belittling what we have built up to and accept that Australia aren't the side that they were.

If I were you i'd be more worried about your current side than what you've done in the past. McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Hayden, Langer, MacGill, Martyn (if he gets back in the side) will all be gone in the near future. Yes, you have some good players coming through but are they good enough to replace those players and continue the dominance? I doubt it.

Over the next few years, I think we could see some of the most exciting test cricket we have ever seen with so many evenly matched sides in the world.

Follow Aussie1st's example and accept how good England are. :)

Yes,england are a good side. But i still think the Aussies are better. But all should recognise englands dominant performances in the last few years.

get off your high-horse sunshine. we are better then you, and dammit it will stay that way for a long time to come. why should i need to worry, i trust the most organanised and succesfull cricketing community in the world to know what they are doing in terms of young talent replacing old talent. there is shaun Tait, CLarke, the husseys, cullen, clark, watson, and many more players in the domestic competition more then capable of taking on the roles of our senior players. do you REALLY think that us Aussies would forget to think about the future? didn't think so. how could the best in the world forget a thing like that?

Didn't say England are better than Australia, I said you should accept how good England are which you can't seem to do. As I said, you certainly have some good players coming through but I don't think they can possibly be as good as the current side was. To lose 6-7 players will hurt Australia alot, it would hurt any side. To think that this will not effect a side is silly.

it will, but tnot to the extent that we will become worse then you. we are totaly out of form and you just beat us. thats not that much of an achievement. when India beat us in India no one carried on the way the English have. some one needs to put you back in your place. which is below us. sorry if the soles of our shoes are sharp when we walk all over you, though, one must be used to it by now.

^ My god you're a tw*t. I never realised one person could be so arrogant. Except McGrath that is. We'll see who's better next year down under. We weren't meant to win this time, everyone knew our best chance was next year, but we won now because we were ready, and smarter as a team. Next year, our team will have matured even further, Flintoff and Harmison will be at their peak, as will Hoggard. Perhaps we will even take 2 specialist spinners down, Giles and someone else. Maybe Loudon, let's face it, you didnt exactly deal with the doosra well in the super series.

Maybe we carried on as much as we did because it's such a novelty for us to beat Australia! Have you considered the possibility that we didn't let you play aswell as everyone knows you can? Look at Lord's and the 1st innings where we took it to you, ok you bowled pretty well in the rest of the match, but apart from the 1st innings we were poor. You say you won't become worse than us, but it's not impossible we could become better.

EDIT: We're also taking over the England in Pakistan thread with our debate, back on topic methinks.
