Yeah, Vaughan's wicket will be crucial. He's a specialist opener so he should be able to see of the second new ball. I'd like to see him and Freddie (assuming Hoggy goes fairly quickly) dig in a bit and not give their wickets away before they have a swing.

Good shout, we need a big one from freddie tomorrow. I have to admit it always makes it exciteing when we are relying on a big one from freddie. Lets hop he doesnt dissapoint

England have played fairly well, should have been bigger than it looks to be but it still looks good for them, Andrew Strauss what a player

What an inning by Strauss...well I reckon England will easily get 350+ and then it will be time for England bowlers to get it together. I just hope they could take some early wickets and especially Kallis's wicket..he is a dangerous man and can turn the match around.

Damm it, rain. Looking like Englands advantage is dissapearing quicker than greame smith getting out lbw

night watchman hoggard gone early, England 5/273

Also, Michael Vaughan going too fast to keep up with 14* (70)
Slow Down Michael!

I don't see the point in us taking the light. It just means when we start again Pollock and Ntini will be fresh.

Back on and lost Flintoff and Jones straight away. I am getting quite optimistic that this pitch is a nightmare and 300/350 is a great score!

England were offered the light and what was Vaughans response?

In the words of Monty Python, RUN AWAY!

So with the ball seaming and swinging about, you wouldn't have taken it? But as Colin says, it means Ntini and Pollock are fresh, but if you aren't comfortable, you're more likely to take the light.

What a comeback by England. Its a complete farce that again south africa get the benefit of the light, especially when they are fielding. Just because you cant dismiss steve harmison no need to resort to dirty tricks. Well its been a great afternoon session especially after what i saw this morning. Lets hope England can pick up where we left off, altho im sure that wont happen.

4th Test Stumps Day 2

England 1st Inning 411/8 (Strauss 147, Key 83, Vaughan 82*) (Ntini 4/111)

Well we'll know better once we've seen the weather tomorrow. Sunny - a draw. Cloudy - an England win!
I've put my money where my mouth is and backed a definite result in this game.

Very odd for rain like that in Jo'burg, half a days play wasted!

We'll see the ODI's Goodyear Park now has a bouncy and quick pitch, it used to be slow and the ball kept low.... wonder what'll happen? :)
