Three more squads have been named for the Twenty20 World Championships
in South Africa. New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh have all announced
their 15-man squads for next month's competition. Australia, Kenya, Pakistan
and Scotland are yet to announce their squads.
New Zealand name a squad full of experience as well as youth. The big news
is that Brendon McCullum will play as a pure batsmen with Gareth Hopkins
wearing the gloves. There are big players with the bat for New Zealand with
Ross Taylor, Peter Fulton, Scott Styris and Lou Vincent all making the trip.
Shane Bond will be a key player for the New Zealand side, and Daniel Vettori
will hope for a fully firing Shane Bond to lift the side.
Zimbabwe go into the competition not expected to qualify past their group
with England and Australia to face. They have a very young side with just one
player past the age of 26. Prosper Utseya will have to hope for a shock
victory against two of the big nations if they are to make it to the 2nd round.
Bangladesh are a side on the up and they will look to inject the same amount
of enthusiasm and energy into the competition as they did in the World Cup.
They have every chance of making the 2nd round, but their spinning quartet
of Alok Kapali, Abdur Razzak and Shakib Al Hasan will be crucial to the success
of the team. Mohammad Ashraful's men will have to bat the full 20 overs in
each game if they are to progress in the competition.
Bangladesh: Ashraful (c), Mortaza, Razzak, Ahmed, Kapali, Reza, Siddique,
Mahmudullah, Rahim (wk), Chowdhury, Nazimuddin, Al Hasan, Rasel, Iqbal, Rahman
New Zealand: Vettori (c), Bond, Fulton, Gillespie, Hopkins (wk), B McCullum,
N McCullum, McMillan, Martin, Oram, Patel, Scott, Styris, Taylor, Vincent
Zimbabwe: Utseya (c), Brent, Chibhabha, Chigumbura, Dabengwa, Maruma,
Marumisa, Masakadza, Matsikenyeri, Mpofu, Mupariwa, Sibanda, Taibu (wk),
Taylor, Williams

Ntini out of Twenty20 World Championships
The South African team have announced that Makhaya Ntini will not take any
part in the Twenty20 World Championships due to a calf strain. Ntini was
bowling in a practice session out in Zimbabwe when he pulled up and was taken
to hospital.
He has suffered a grade 2 strain and will be out for around 3 to 6
weeks, therefore missing the inaugural Twenty20 Championships. The board
also announced that Andre Nel will be Ntini's replacement in the South African
squad.

Pakistan complete series victory
FIFTH YOUTH ODI, Grace Road
Pakistan U19s 345/3 beat England U19s 333/4 by 12 runs
Pakistan U19s rounded off a successful tour with a victory in the final ODI at
Grace Road. On an excellent batting pitch the visitors posted 345/3 in their
first innings. Fine unbeaten hundreds from Umar Amin and Usman Salahuddin
set up a big total for England to chase. England put up a valiant effort falling
just 12 short of Pakistan's total. England had two centurions of their own,
both Billy Godleman and Adam Lyth hit quick fire centuries to give their side a
chance.
England put Pakistan into bat and things started brilliantly for the home side.
Andrew Miller dismissed Ahmed Shehzad first ball of the innings. Shan Masood
and Umar Amin put on a fifty partnership before Rory Hamilton-Brown trapped
Masood lbw for 27. Taimur Ali joined Amin and hit 62 from 57 deliveries before
he became Miller's 2nd victim. Usman Salahuddin came in and smashed it to all
parts, and along with Amin they put on an unbeaten stand of 189 from just
139 balls. Amin finished on 146* from 129 and Salahuddin 100* from 78.
Between them the pair smashed 27 fours and 6 sixes.
In reply England also started badly. Alex Wakely went for a golden duck, just
the second ball of the innings. This brought the in-form Adam Lyth to the
crease. Lyth and Godleman tore into the Pakistani bowlers, Mohammad Rameez
in particular. Lyth made 104 from 83 balls including 11 fours and 5 sixes before
Shahzaib Ahmed dismissed him caught in the deep. Godleman and Rory
Hamilton-Brown put on a partnership of 81 before Godleman departed for 106,
clean bowled by Mohammad Aamer. Hamilton-Brown went 5 balls later for 39
with the score at 259/4, still 86 runs needed in 61 balls. Tom Westley (42*)
and Karl Brown (29*) could only manage to hit 74 of those runs, leaving them
12 runs short. The economical bowling of Mohammad Aamer and Shahzaib
Ahmed proved vital as Pakistan finished the series with a win.

Australia, Kenya, Pakistan and Scotland have named their 15 man squads for
the upcoming Twenty20 World Championships in South Africa. All 12 teams
have now named their squads for next month's inaugural competition.
Australia have all their big guns in for the tournament including captain Ricky
Ponting, wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist, pace bowler Brett Lee and master
batsmen Michael Hussey. As expected Michael Clarke is named in the 15
despite his strained hamstring that will cause him to miss the opening group
stages. In other injury news Shane Watson will not take any part in the
competition due to a re-occurring calf problem. Shaun Tait pips Ben Hilfenhaus
to the final bowler slot and Brad Haddin makes the squad as a batsmen.
Watson's surprise replacement is all-rounder Cameron White.
Pakistan name a young squad which includes only 2 players over the age of
30. Shoaib Malik will lead the side full of talent and a side that is perfectly
suited to the 20 over format. Big names such as Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar,
Mohammad Asif and Younis Khan will be key players, not just for Pakistan, but
for the whole tournament.
Kenya and Scotland have also named their sides for the Twenty20 competition.
Both teams aren't expected to make it past the group stages but both sides
will be confident then can put up a good fight. Scotland are placed in Group
D up against Pakistan and India, whilst Kenya face New Zealand and Sri Lanka
