Sachin Tendulkar hit 80 as India beat England by three wickets in the fourth one-day international to level
the series at 2-2.
India chased down 261 set by England with just the one ball remaining as Ramesh Powar hit the winning
boundary off an expensive Ryan Sidebottom.
Tendulkar set up the chase with a briskly made 80 from 73 deliveries in an opening stand of 105 with Robin
Uthappa who hit 39.
Middle order contributions from Rahul Dravid (35), Yuvraj Singh (19) and Irfan Pathan (32) brought India to
victory, once again bouncing back from defeat to level the series.
England had earlier made 260/7 thanks to an unbeaten 8th wicket partnership of 52 between Andrew
Flintoff (33*) and Stuart Broad (27*).
Kevin Pietersen looked the most confident of the English batsmen once again making 43 from 46 balls before
he was bowled by Pathan.
England's opening pair of Alistair Cook and Matthew Prior failed to make an impact once again, and at an
average partnership of just 38.5, many are calling for a change at the top of the innings.
Ian Bell (20), Paul Collingwood (31) and Owais Shah (21) all made starts but gave their wickets away
needlessly.
Dravid's slightly strange tactics went for him as well as against him as first change Tendulkar bowled well
and finished with figures of 1 for 45 from his ten. In contrast Rohit Sharma bowled six expensive overs
costing his side 54 runs and numerous extras.
India came out to chase in positive fashion and the game looked to be cruising to an Indian victory.
However, Monty Panesar got rid of danger-man Tendulkar and produced a tight spell to drag England back
in with a shout.
Despite regular wickets England's seamers leaked runs, and even when Yuvraj, Dhoni and Dravid fell
between the 35th and 45th overs it looked like India would make it home.
The teams travel to Headingly on Sunday for the fifth game of this seven match series.
