Lunch on Day 3​

Mark Nicholas: Well it was a blow for England to lose Davie just before the break, but neverthless, England still have Fred Fan at the crease and he looks well set to score a hundred today. I'm here with Mike Haysman, who has some comments about the match.

Mike Haysman: I just wanted to talk about the difference between the two innings in this match so far. Sri Lanka only got 270 in their first innings because a lot of batsmen got starts to their innings, but none of them went on to capitalise. The England batsmen however, have not only made starts, but they hve gone on to build on them. The two openers both got bedded in, and WIll Baines got a 100 with Briggs just falling short. Today we have seen two players make fifties, fair enough, Jack teague didn't make the most of his 50 but Fred Fan really has built on his start, and looks in fine shape out there.​

Fan Chalks Up A Hundred​

Geraint Jones: It's been a fantastic day for Fred Fan as he thumped another boundary to bring up his 3rd Test match century.

Dean Jones: It's been a faultless innings by Fan, and he has never looked like getting out today. The one thing that makes this innings even better, is that he will be on the Lords honours board. Well played son.

Fan brought up his hundred in typical fashion; With a boundary.

What a moment for the young right-hander; A 100 at Lords is special.​

Fan Dominates as England Reach 500​

Mike Haysman: Fred Fan has not switched off since reaching his century as he ha pressed on and attacked the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Geoffrey Boycott: Well this is a terriffic innings from Fan, as he has really took the game to Sri Lanka; No matter where they bowl at him he is scoring runs, and Sri Lanka don't know what to do.​

Fan hits yet another boundary.​

Michael Slater: The England Wicket-Keeper Ahmad has lost his wicket to the spin of Thilan Samaraweera.

Mark Nicholas: It was an exceptional bit of spin bowling from the Sri Lankan, ad he managed to land it in the rough outside leg-stump, and Ahmad was cleverly bowled around his legs for a well-played 36.

Ahmad serveys the damage as he is clean bowled.

Michael Slater: England's innings draws to a close rapidly here as they have lost two quick wickets to the spin of Thilan Samaraweera.

Mark Nicholas:Yes, the first man to go was Fred Fan who played a splenid innings of 127, but he was bowled through the gate after he misread a googly. Then Lee Payne came to the crease, but was clean bowled shortly afterwards.​

Fan's brilliant knock comes to an end.
