India Fight Back But Wickets Keep Tumbling:

The India coaching staff thought that they were back on track as Sehwag kept on hammering the boundaries while Dravid was pushing the single, they were nearing the 50 partnership after the bowling change. Dravid had just seen out the first 5 balls of Freddies second over when disaster struck, Freddie came from around the wicket with one of his special balls, the in swinging yorker beat Dravid all ends up, it caught him off guard and cleaned him up, he obviously didnt pick the length as he tried a drive back down the ground, completely missed the ball and had to walk back to the pavillion feeling dejected.

Sehwag Reaches The Milestone Way Before Lunch:

Verinder Sehwag has just reaches his 50 and looks set to make a big score, he is seeing it like its a beachball and has already hammered 2 sixes and 6 fours. The England bowlers have no idea where to put it, everything they have tried has been dispatched for a boundary or milked for a quick single. He has been supported well at the other end by VVS Laxman who is currently on 27*. With quite a few overs left till lunch and his arms now free, who knows?? Maybe there could be a first session century on the way from this brute??!!??

Lunch Day 1:

Verinder Sehwag was so close to reaching his century in the first session at Kolkata, he was really tearing into the bolwers and thier economy rates took a real battering. The England captain tries everything, even a short experient with Ian Bell which went terribly terribly wrong. Andrew Flintoff was getting hit all over the place and so were the spinners at first, they got into thier line a bit better though and found one which troubled him. They were operating in tandem as we brok for lunch on day 1. India are in a strong positon after getting such a big score in the first session, the England boys will be really dejected, i cant remember the last time they conceeded this many runs after starting so well! VVS Laxman has not had to play as many shots because of Sehwag and has silently reached a calm and collected 27*

England bad fielding costs heavy:

England poor fielding has cost them basg of runs in the last session and it could cost lots morehere, this time its not letting it slip through your hands to the boundary its dropping one from high in the sky. Matthew Hoggard is the culprit and Ashley Giles is the frustrated bowler. Michael Vaughan decided to keep on with the spinners and in the very first ball back after lunch Giles pitched one short to Sehwag, it came onto him quiker than he expected and he spooned it to mid off, Giles was already jumping for joy when the ball slipped thorough his hands.. Sehwag has been let off and he knows it, he just needs to punish England now.

Giles Gets His Reward But Sehwag Marches On:

Ashley Giles who has been bowling well against the in form Sehwag gets the vital wicket which breaks up this essential partnership for India. VVS Laxman was closing in on his 50, he picked up the pace after lunch, playing some corking shots, he eventually fell when Giles got one to skid on, he drove at it and the bat twsted in his hand, it looped to Hoggard who didnt drop this one, it still doesent make up for the last dropped one though because India would have two fresh batsmen at the crease now instead of one new batsman and a powerhouse.

Sehwag Bludgeons His Way To A Century:

Verinder Sehwag has had England on the backfoot sinse he faced the first ball and he is a true powerhouse, he has scored his century in spectacular fashion by craching the ball to the boundary 8 times and sending it sailing over the rope 7 times. The England bowlers have been at odds and ends trying to find the right line, Giles and Udal have managed to stem the flow and keep him to scoring too heavily but he is still going at a big, big rate. Can England stop this brute from punishing them further, if they can then they are well on thier way to bowing India out for a below par total, if they cant then they are in for a hard few days batting!
