England seamers destroy Aussies

Day 4 Lunch Update...

Michael Clarke grabs a wicket, KP falls for 182
The England innings has come to a close just over 40 mins on the fourth day with Kevin Pietersen becoming the last man to fall, just 18 runs short of a test double hundred.

Michael Clarke picked up the first wicket in the morning, his first of the innings, when he had Stephen Harmison caught at slips for 9. Brett Lee then took his innings tally to four wickets when he had Jimmy Anderson bowled for 5 and Kevin Pietersen caught in the deep for 182.

Hoggard, Harmison strike early
England bowlers have hit the Aussies hard in the second innings as both Matthew Hoggard and Steve Harmison grabbed two wickets each.

The first to fall was Matthew Hayden who inside edged a brilliant delivery from Hoggard to the wicketkeeper Geraint Jones.

He was soon followed by the captain Ricky Ponting who failed to pick up a brilliant yorker from the Yorkshireman.

Just one run later Steve Harmison had Justin Langer caught at first slip by Alastair Cook and then picked up the crucial wicket of Michael Hussey who edged the ball to Geraint Jones as Australia lost their fourth wicket for just 21 runs.

James Anderson joins the party
The Aussies were already stunned by Harmison and Hoggard and were staring at a bid defeat now and it got from bad to worse when England's first change bowler James Anderson sent three more batsmen back to the pavillion.

Michael Clarke and Adam Gilchrist were both victims of some brilliant outswing bowling by Anderson that found the outside edge of the bat in route to the wicketkeeper.

Anderson then had Shane Warne clean bowled off the first ball with another cracking delivery.

The Aussies were now facing a massive defeat at the hands of England. What a stunning performance it has been by England in the second innings. First Kevin Pietersen hit a majestic 182 that helped England set a target of 319 and then the bowlers picked up seven Australian wickets for just 32 runs. Unbelievable stuff this!!

Thanks.

I think I've got hold of the bowling now. Some AI editing will be required from here on if the Aussies want to stand a chance.

wow what bowling by england and a great target set by KP, the aussies will struggle to get to half of KP's score alone

This is definetly an EA bug :D

Nice work M_Vaughan, despite the fact Australia are getting smashed this is a good story :)

Good bowling from the England seamers.
Yep I certainly think your getting the hand of bowling Vaughany.

So many edges on 5* against Australia no way...you must be using a patch?

Good work at least we can win somewhere :p

Hodge, Lee lead Aussie resistance

Day 4 Tea Update...

Brad Hodge and Brett Lee defy England
Just when we thought the match was going to wrapped up in this session, Australia's Brad Hodge and Brett Lee have led a brave and patient resistance and played out the entire second session of play. But can they do it for another four sessions?

Some ressistance from Aussies! One more wicket will finish of the match soon.. Huge pressure on Hodge, but still game is very well placed in England's hands!
