1st Test, Day 2 : Live from Brisbane ​

The 3rd Man's Chat : Lunch Session​

David Gower : Hello and Welcome to The 3rd Man's Chat for the lunch session show.Overnight Australia were in comfortable position with the score on 328/4 and it seemed like today Australia will score in excess of 500 may be they will reach close to 600 .But England bowlers did well with the new ball this morning and bowled out Australia for just 419 runs . Australia will be very disappointed with this performance in the morning session but 419 is a decent score on such type of wicket where the ball is not coming on the bat nicely. Well Mark what do u think about this 1st session?

Mark Nicholas : England did well with the bowl this morning but i feel that Australian batsman didn't bat to their expectations .Apart from Hayden and Clarke all the Australian batsman failed to score 50 runs . Langer, Ponting and Hussey got good starts but they lost their wickets at crucial periods of the match . Hayden was brilliant with the bat as he scored 180 runs and truely deserved a double century . If we take a look at his wagon wheel we can see that he scored his runs on both sides of the wicket and was strong on the offside . He looked confident right throughout his innings and hitting the ball well but he was not getting support from the other end . In the end he went for the big shot which was good thinking by him as only 2 wickets were remaining and the score was too less but Pietersen took a good catch to dismiss him. A great innings my Hayden, 180 in 301 balls with 21 fours and 1 six .

Boycott: That was brilliant stuff from Hayden and he deserved his double century but M.Clarke did a good job as well as he came at a difficult stage of the match when his team was struggling with already 4 wickets down for just 206 runs .He was slow in the start and did support M.Hayden in his innings and never played a rash shot in his innings of 50 . After gaining so confidence he started scoring freely and boundaries were coming easily for him . If we take a look at his wagon wheel then we can see that he scored most of his runs behind square on the legside which means that he was waiting for the ball to come on the bat and was just using the pace of the ball to score the runs . He was good on the offside as well specially in the cover region .

N.Hussain: England did a great job with the ball to restrict Australia to 419 . Hoggard and Flintoff bowled superbly with the new ball this morning and they got all the crucial wickets at the right intervals . Flintoff took the important wicket of Clarke and broke the partnership and then he was on song as he took quick wickets go Gilchrist and Warne .Then Hoggard did the rest to clean up the tail and get the most important wicket of the match of M.Hayden . Amongst Hoggard and Flintoff it was Hoggard who bowled well and finished with figures of 28.4-3-99-4 while Flintoff was bit too expensive.

that was a half volley and Hayden was quick ti smash that for six but Pietersen took a brilliant catch to dismiss him .

Flintoff was the main key considering he has picked Gilli,clarke and Ponting which is somewat different from Hussain's opinion Nice presentation!

Hussain might have considered the day 1 as well where Hoggard bowled superbly and gave less runs with his tight line and length while Flintoff was too expensive on day 1 and made a good comeback on day2. but according to me both the bowlers bowled superbly
