Australia v England , Live from Jaipur

David Gower: Hello and welcome all our viewers around the world to The Third Man's Chat . Today we are here for the 3rd match of Group A between Australia and England and it should be a real cracker. This is the biggest match of the tournament and the whole world will watch it as Australia and England are the greatest cricketing rivals and certainly they will like to win this match and get the confidence going on for the Ashes. Australia lost the Ashes last year and it was a shocker for them and this time they will fight back to regain it and everything will start from this match .Australia are in good form having won the last match against West Indies where they chased 284 runs in just 48 overs and proved that they are here to win the Champions Trophy and nothing can stop them from winning it. While England lost a close match against India but in that match Pietersen scored a brilliant century leading the fight while J.Lewis and A.Flintoff bowled superbly to keep England in the match but India sneaked through with a good partnership between Dhoni and Kaif . Michael Holding and Nasser Hussain are there in the studio with me . Well Michael a big one today and certainly the toughest match so what do u think about todays match.

holding2iy.jpg
M.Holding: A big match today and ofcourse is one of the toughest match for both teams. Australia have won the last match against West Indies and it was a real confidence booster for them as they were under immense pressure as everywhere there were talks of Australia never won the Champions Trophy but after the match against West Indies people will have to think before talking. England did play well in their last match and were the favourites to win but India batted well with the likes of Tendulkar, Kaif and Dhoni . While England have star players like Pietersen , Fintoff and they surely are the key for England in todays match . Monty is also as the pitch will be bowlers friendly in todays match so England bowlers will have to play a big role . Australia love the bowler friendly condition as they have world class bowlers like Brett Lee and Glen McGrath and also they have Shane Watson who bowled well in the last match. So it will be tough one to chose which team will win but its 50-50 chances for both sides.

hussain6nb.jpg
N.Hussain:Australia have already won the last match and they have 4 valuable points in their account but England will have to win this match if they have to stay in this tournament .If England lose this match then their chances will be nearly over and then the net run rate will come in the picture but the net run rate of all teams are almost the same so we cant say anything about this at the moment. England love swinging condition i wont be surprised if i see England going with 5 bowlers but they will have to choose between Hoggard and Monty. They need 1 spinner in the side as well as in the afternoon the pitch may lose the moisture due to the heat and so the ball might stop swinging .On the other hand Brett Lee is the key player today with his pace and swing England batsmen will face difficult time today.

David Gower: Thank You Gentlemen .Well as we all know Sky Sports are doing a joint production with Sony Max for this Champions Trophy . So we will take u straight away to the Extra Innings studio with beautiful and gorgeous Mandira Bedi along with the cricketing expert with his inimitable humorous style and good cricketing knowledge Navjot Singh Sidhu and also the king of the experts Geoffrey Boycott .

Mandira Bedi : Thank You David . Welcome to Extra Innings where you are going to enjoy in-depth analysis of the Champions Trophy with all the action and excitement with expert analysis for out great cricketing expert Navjot Singh Sidhu and also one of the greatest player of England Geoffrey Boycott . Today we are here for the 3rd match of the group stages and we have got a tough match as Australia play against England. Well Navjot what do you think which team is likely to win todays match .

sidhuau0.jpg
N.Sidhu :A tough one to choose as both the teams are the greatest cricketing rivals and both the teams gives more than 100% when they face each other . Remember England had their upper hand in the Ashes last time and Australia were left in shocking condition after that series. But now its One Day cricket and its Champions Trophy and both the teams are playing at neutral venues so anything can happen today. Well Geoffrey what do u think will your side win today ?

boycsxs9.jpg
G.Boycott:Well Navjot if you will ask me who's going to win this one then today it will be difficult to choose 1 team of the two as anything can happen in a close contest. Both the teams have good quality players and also they are in form too especially Aussies who are going with a good run having won the DFL Cup. Pieterson is the in form batsman for England so he will have to play a bigger role today also and rest of the batting should click today . Aussies have the best batsmen and last match Watson also showed that he is handy player in the opening slots. So toss will be deciding which team will have more chances to win .

mandirahs5.jpg
Mandira Bedi :Ian Botham is ready with the pitch report so lets take you live down on the pitch with Ian Botham.

Ian Botham: Thanks Mandira . Its a packed stadium here in Jaipur and everyone are waiting for the start of the match but still there is another half and hour remaining before the start of the match.Well if u take a look at the pitch they its bad news for the batsmen but good news for the bowlers .Its a green pitch covered with a good layer of grass on it and just wait and watch the ball to swing around al the time. the swing is not going to die unless in the afternoon when if we get more heat the the moisture will be lost then the bowl will swing less but if we take a look at the sky we can see that the sun is hiding behing the clouds but the conditions are not overcast it wont rain .Team winning the toss surely going to ball . Also the batting team will have to score around 220-230 and it may prove to be a defendable today but batting will be difficult on this track and more the time the batsman will spend on this wicket then he will be adjusted to the conditions. Back to you Mandira.

Mandira Bedi :Ian Botham with the pitch report well Navjot what do you think what how big will be toss going to be.

sidhuau0.jpg
N.Sidhu :No prizes for guessing the team winning the toss will be bowling 1st and it will be a nightmare for the batsmen .Might turn out to be a low scoring game i hope that England will win the toss and then they will have a good chance to take quick Aussie wickets.

mandirahs5.jpg
Mandira Bedi :Thanks Navjot . We will take a short break here on Extra Innings when we come back we will take you live for the toss ........Stay Tuned :)
