Yeah Zorax...Mandira is the host of Extra Innings and for everyone who dont know who is Mandira Bedi then u can always remember that she is a bollywood actress 1st and then she is the familiar face in cricket only for hosting cricketing shows. Last time she was the co-host along with Mark Nicholas in ICC awards 2005.
M.Atherton : Thank You Mandira ......The crowd is in action they are all waiting to get the match on it way so are the two captains R.Ponting and A.Flintoff. R.Ponting tosses the coin .....tails is the call from Flintoff and it comes down as heads.....Australia have won the toss .Well Ricky congrajulations on winning the toss whats your decision .
R.Ponting :We will bowl first. The pitch has a layer of green grass on it and the ball will swing a lot and its is very good as far as the bowling is concerned but it will be a real tough time batting here. We hope that the sun will shine nicely in the afternoon and the moisture from the pitch will be decreased . Now our fast bowlers will be going hard after the batting as the ball will swing and also we we will try to pick up 3-4 wickets inside 20 overs and the the pressure will be on England.
M.Atherton :And what about your team playing with 4 bowlers or 5 bowlers ?
R.Ponting :We are playing 3 fast bowlers and also we have the medium pace bowling of Watson and Symonds and also if spin is required then Hogg will come in play.
M.Atherton :And what about the remaining side ?
R.Ponting :Its the same as the last game and in this match also Shane Watson will open the innings.
M.Atherton : Well Freddie lost the toss again disappointed with that ?
A.Flintoff :Yes actually the toss here was important we have already lost the 1st match and now we will have to win this one and we will try to bat well and we will try to spend time on the wicket reading the swing and bounce of the wicket and that will be useful for scoring in the end with wickets in hand..
M.Atherton :What about your side ?
A.Flintoff : We have the same side as the last match playing with 4 fast bowlers and the medum pace bowling of Collingwood and also Monty is there in the side ..
M.Atherton :Well good luck for the match Freddie .
A.Flintoff :Thank You.
M.Atherton: Back to you Mandira.
Mandira Bedi :Well the news from the centre is that Australia have won the toss and elected to field first.Lets take a look at the teams.
The Teams
Looks like everything is set for the start of play . The England openers Strauss and Bell are out in the middle and Ricky Ponting has given Brett Lee a chance to open the bowling attack.
We will take a short break here on Third Man's Chat when we come back we will take you live for the 1st ball of the match .
Its a real dramatic start here in Jaipur as England lost their 1st wicket in the very 1st over of the match . England never dreamed of such a start but Aussies were fully determined to get quick England wickets and now the have managed to get 1 wicket and how the pressure is right on England and only 1 over is bowled.
It all started when Brett Lee was given a chance to open the bowling attack which was the unusual part as in most matches G.McGrath opens the bowling. May be due to the wind factor as Brett Lee was steaming in with the wind . Strauss managed to pick up a single on the 1st ball of the match and a huge roar went up as England were off the mark straight-away.The Brett Lee was swinging the ball away from the right handed Ian Bell who was going for the drive but the on all 3 occasions the ball was swinging away from him .The next ball Brett Lee bowled a short ball and Bell picked it up early and he went for a hook shot but the ball didn't bounce as expected and Bell only managed to get an inside edge on the stumps.Bell was left stranded at the crease and Brett Lee started celebrating and Aussies were on top . Pietersen is the next man in for England he got a century in the last match but one things for sure that England are under immense pressure as they are on the backfoot straight away.
Bell's Wicket
England : 1/1 (1over) A.Strauss :Not Out 1 (1) Ian Bell : b B.Lee 0 (4)
