What a brilliant knock that from Andrew Strauss. As shown in the screens he scored runs all over the ground and England I think are gonna bulldoze the Windies en route to the semis!!

wow england could get up to 300 here with Freddie and Strauss well set

Thanks for your wonderful replies. My net had some problems from yesteday so i didnt update . Now updates are coming shortly and be prepared to wait for the crucial last over update. Can England score over 300 ?

England score massive 283 thanks to Flintoff's half century

England finally managed to score 81 runs in their last 10 overs of their innings. Strauss missed out on 115 runs but it was Freddie Flintoff who guided England to a magnificant 283 runs and also scored a half century in quick time. J.Dalrymple gave a good support to Flintoff by picking up singles and giving the strike back to Flintoff and Flintoff did the rest.

Andrew Strauss batted brilliantly for his century and was looking a bit tired as he was just using the pace of the ball trying to score the late cuts and flicking the ball on the leg side . This were clear indications that he was feeling tired but the conditions here were absoultely hot and he did well to bat out for such a long innings and scoring a brilliant century and putting his side on top of the match. In the 42nd over of the match Strauss went for a big hit on the leg side but he never got hold of it and it went straight in the hands of B.Lara. Strauss scored a brilliant 115 runs in 125 balls with 14 boundaries. He scored his runs in each and every part of the ground and departed when score was 214/4.
Brilliant innings comes to an end.

But it was not over for England after the fall of Strauss wicket. J.Dalrymple joined Flintoff in the middle and somehow partnership started to build between both the batsmen . Flintoff who came and scored a brilliant 50 in the last match against the Aussies played a similar role today as he went after the West Indies attack and started building a big score . Each and every run was important at this stage but the West Indies fielders found it difficult to stop the run flow from Flintoff's bat. J.Dalrymple was playing a nice supporting tole and was looking for singles most of the time and was giving the strike to Flintoff. England finally score 283 runs in 50 overs while Flintoff reached his half century and remained unbeaten on 55 off 46 balls with 7 Fours and 1 Six. West Indies have a big target to chase here and a win is a must for them to stay in the competition.

wow great batting by fred and strauss, nice hitting... will it be enough, yes i think so

West Indies off to a flying start

West Indies had a big target to chase and certainly they needed a good start and then only they had any chance to win this match . Chasing 283 was not easy also West Indies know that Australia were also bowled out by England in the last match so that will be at the back of their mind. West Indies needed a good start by the openers and the 1st 15 overs were crucial for both the teams as West Indies had to use full restrictions of the powerplay while England had to take wickets with the new ball.

West Indies were indeed playing nicely and were very watchful and were good in shot selection .Chanderpaul was having some problems getting off the mark but he got off the mark in style with a brilliant boundary through the offside while Gayle was playing exceptionally well and once he gets a start then its difficult to stop him from playing a big knock. But when the score was on 33 runs West Indies lost their 1st wicket in the form of S.Chanderpaul but the catch was not easy infact it was created by A.Strauss. Chanderpaul tried to play through the offside but failed to keep the ball down and the ball was dying but Strauss took a good catch diving forward . It was a stunning catch by Strauss as he took a catch diving forward but from where he got that energy after batting for 40 overs under hot conditions.West Indies lose their 1st wicket for 33 runs as Lewis gets his 1st wicket.
Chanderpaul's Wicket

After the loss of Chanderpaul's wicket there was no rest for England as West Indies captain B.Lara walked in and it was important to get the precious wicket of Lara. But the match situaltion took a complete U-turn as Gayle suddenly went in the aggressive gear. He realised that this is the time when West Indies can score quick runs and take the match away from England. Gayle started smashing Harmison and Lewis all over the place . Infact Harmison who had just regained his form in the last match with a superb bowling performance is now struggling to bow against Gayle . Gayle is shashing each and every delivery over the top of the infield and it is disturbing the line and length of England bowlers. Lara is doing the wisest thing by collecting singles and giving the strike to Gayle but he is also putting the bad ball away for boundaries . England will have to re-think on their strategy and they will have to pick the important wicket of Gayle orelse the match will slip away from them. As Gayle continues to play in an aggressive manner Flintoff throws the ball to L.Plunkett and now it looks like change in bowling will change England's fortune too.
