Gutted I missed the game. Havent had much time to look at the highlights either. Glad England won and good to see Virat putting together a marvelous inns once more. India need to rest Rahul, Pant and Iyer, trial some guys for the T20 WC!

The reason for KL Rahul's struggle in this series is Pant's rise. Now since Pant is in a terrific form he is well on course to make a comeback in the ODI team as a specialist keeper. Who is India's ODI keeper? It is KL Rahul. KL Rahul was said by our great Captain that he is our long-term option for keeper in the ODI team. Now it is foolishness of not letting Pant play as a keeper batsman after the form he is in. So this actually roots back to the time when KL Rahul was said that he would be a wicket-keeper for India. Rahul's struggle have got nothing to do with the skill set but it is his insecurity that is not letting him perform.
Also the Shreyas Iyer argument- What I would suggest is that if Kohli is so keen on having Shreyas Iyer in the side then he needs to sacrifice his own position and let Shreyas bat at 3. Yesterday's performance is an indication that given a good platform Kohli can absolutely unleash himself. Shreyas is actually very consistent so there would be less occasions where he would get out early so India would always be in a situation being 50/1 or 70/2 between overs 8-10. So 10 overs should be enough for Kohli to score 50-60.
Also the Shreyas Iyer argument- What I would suggest is that if Kohli is so keen on having Shreyas Iyer in the side then he needs to sacrifice his own position and let Shreyas bat at 3. It's been sometime I've posted something on the forum but yeah, watching the first set of T20Is I feel that the 5 bowler strategy is shit in first place.
Secondly, with all due respect to Bhuvi, we're missing express pace of someone like Boom or Shami, maybe Saini as an option. Yes, we're playing at home but Thakur can never be our second seamer...
I'd play this XI for the WT20:
Rohit
Rahul/Kishan
Kohli
Iyer/SKY
Pant
Pandya
Jadeja
Sundar/Chahal
D Chahar/Thakur/Nataranljan
Bhuvi/Shami
Bumrah
It's again about maintaining the long batting order or getting specialists to do specific jobs. With Jadeja in, it'll be a better call to have only one other spinner or if it is really spinning a lot we could play the third spinner.
