England's tour of India - 2021

Kohli needs DSR practice really - awful in this TEST

Especially comparing with Rahane who was excellent

Have to admit pretty strange play by Bess. 40+ balls faced and not much scored.

And now that Butler has been dismissed, I reckon they will declare soon (probably 15 minutes of batting) and then have at least 10-15 overs to bowl at the batsmen.

Not having a very good feeling about our chances TBH. Barring Pujara, I do not think our team will be able to adjust to the spin from the Bess and Leach. Hell, even Root is known to have the golden arm.

A poor test from Nadeem. The more worrying factor is his no-balls. How on earth does a spinner end up overdoing it is beyond me. Jadeja too used to have this problem but I think he has brought the count down. Kuldeep will be fancying his chances for the 2nd Test irrespective of the outcome of this Test.

20 overs left in the day - i think 5 more overs of Eng batting now and then they will declare

That's it: 420 in 110+ odd overs. Chasing is impossible - Surviving improbable. Plus law of averages might catch up now - 3rd game where we are pushed against the wall completely and will have to fight to survive

Good luck to the batting line up

India under Virat Kohli chasing 150+ in 4th innings
12 innings *
Nine defeats
Two draws

Drawn Tests
89.5 overs vs Aus, Sydney, 2014/15
52.3 overs vs Eng, Rajkot, 2016/17

240 - the lead for England , If they bat aggresively for a Session & a half can score around 150 - 180 runs setting more than 400 runs to chase which can be defended on this wearing track.

Their timing of declaration will be key surely they will make India bat before end of Today's Play giving a go at the openers for 10-12 Overs Atleast.
Well the prediction is somewhat Spot on - 178 is What England Score & 420 the target for India to chase.

Called it even before the Indian 1st innings started that Rohit will fail. However, reading the commentary it appears that he got a "p(l)each" of a delivery in the 2nd innings. So hard to judge his 2nd innings but still, a fail is a fail.
