India's problem is the top 3. You need someone there who can put you ahead of the curve from the get go. The brief needs to be clear to the openers to take 4-5 overs to access the conditions and then make the move. The thing about Rahul is that if he's assured he won't be dropped he can play the aggressor. Rohit can tear any attack apart once he's set on most occasions. Kohli can anchor and the others can do what they do. SKY at 4 is an absolute must. He is someone who can create havoc for the opposition captain because he doesn't allow the spinners to bowl.

The moment Iyer got injured the management should have roped in SKY at no.4 IMO.

But the less we speak about the management the better it is.

Pant actually did his job tbh, when he was brought in for Iyer, the culprit is the top 3.

Honestly, if England are serious about playing Wood in the Ashes then they need to get him fitter. He's bowled 5 overs and he's huffing and puffing. It's not like he's had a long tour either. He missed the last ODI, missed one or two T20's and didn't play a test.

I am not one of those from yesteryear who don't get workload management but some cricketers in today's day and age are treated like 4 week old kids/pupies.

On the other end of the spectrum you have Ben Stokes who has been doing everything every game.

But on Serious note a very good bowler and needs to stay fit and well to bowl the pace he is bowling at and if play the Ashes down under need to up the ante otherwise on that drop in pitches could be a very very long tour for him.

When you have handed over almost 7 8 debuts in last 2 months , there's no harm in trying him and see how he fares up in today's scenario . Anyways he has been out from the LO setup , a series given to him would bring no bad .

Kuldeep and Chahal are better. They are lacking confidence. It is very obvious when you look at the way they bowled in South Africa & England back in 2018 & now.

Pant's scores in last 6 ODI matches are
71(69), 39(16), 7(11), 28(39), 77(40) & 78(62). He has both consistency and aggression. He should not have been dropped from the team
