I can't believe people are calling for Utd to be punished if we field a weakened team against Blackpool - isn't that what the 'squad system' is for? Name one team who wouldn't field a weakened team if they were in our position. Just one. Do you think Barca are going to wheel out their very biggest guns in their last league game? I very much doubt it. ;)

I mean, the Premiership should be assisting teams who have reached the flippin' CL Final, not hindering them with these daft rules!

Yea fair enough , but Blackpool are playing for survival so they potentially will be giving their everything to win this game unlike Schalke who were done and dusted immediately after the final whistle at Gelsenkirchen .

The rule is absolutely silly to begin with anyway. If United are being punished for fielding a second string team against Blackpool, then the FA are just having double standards.

Two seasons ago, SAF made lots of changes against relegation threatened Hull City on the last day because of the Champions League final. No punishment that time because you won 1-0! So, lets see what happens this time around.

It's a completely ludicrious rule and even then they're only enforcing it on the small clubs.

Arsenal made 8 or 9 changes away at Wigan earlier this season and ended up dropping points there but weren't punished.

It's a complete and utter farce. For starters, how are the bleedin' Premier League supposed to define a team's first choice XI?

It's up there with that stupid 90 minute rule for acadamies as one of the most stupid rules that clubs have enforced on them in this country.

So Van Der Sar's replacement is going to be David De Gea, after confirmations from United, although it can change to Stekelenburg if there is any problem in the De Gea deal.

Was hoping for Neuer to go to United.

Anyone here up for the relegation battle drama? :D

Predicted Wigan and Blackpool to be relegated with West Ham but now feel that Wigan can get out of it with Birmingham going down.

Ending the season on a whimper. Pathetic!

Gotta feel sorry for Blackpool. They have been brilliant all season along with Ian Holloway and it was certainly a cruel blow for them with the own goal from Ian Evatt. Hope they will bounce back ASAP. :thumbs

As for Birmingham, good riddance!

Carlo Ancelotti has parted company with us!

That was certainly fast but who can we replace him with???
