Deserve? Or is that "would compete well" in the Champions League?

Which is little surprise given how better off financially English clubs are compared to most of Europe these days.

If it carries on like this, we probably won't see another Monaco-Porto final or PSV coming within a whisker of a final place in '05 for a while. Well, until the English clubs inevitably implode financially like their Italian counterparts did in the '90s.

Totally agreed .

Deserve and would complete well ha.

We had FC Shalke in the semi's this year. But of course many will say that Inter's capitulation this season sort of aided that, so in a way yes i dont expect to see a Monaco-Porto type final or some unknown team getting far in the CL soon.

It will be interesting to see how those big 6 ENG clubs fare, when the UEFA financial rules comes in.

haaaaaaaaaaaaa

You've probably chosen the worst season to make that judgement, considering how poorly the top bunch of teams have performed this season compared to top 5-6 teams of previous seasons.

Credit where it's due, well played Mr Balotelli for that. :thumbs

I'm not worried about us - yes, we're in debt, but we're also pulling in enough funds to cover those rules - unlike a certain other Manchester club. ;)

That is what I am worried about - and there's far more money, even taking into account today's inflated wages, in English football now than there was in Italian football then. And of course, it's being driven forwards by Man City and to a lesser extent, Chelsea. The FA needs to act and impose a wage/transfer fee cap NOW before it's too late.

But they won't, because just like the politicians who run this country, they're spineless. Otherwise, we wouldn't have to suffer these 'cuts' because a government with more backbone would say to Rooney, Lampard, Terry et al - you live in this country, you're earning more and can afford to pay (much) more.

Scraped? Isn't it working?

Yea , now it seems fine . Earlier , it just said 'the article you were looking for has been removed for obvious reasons'

As for the article , they're just a bunch of sour grapes and making a donkey out of themselves .

Now I'm getting that error message. Strange.
