Mancini calls for further investment - ESPN Soccernet

How much more money are they going to spend collecting players? He already has so many players at his disposal and yet Mancini still complains about injuries and the lack of strength in depth. :facepalm

A better manager than Mancini like Mourinho would have turned their current squad into title challengers already rather than just aiming for 4th spot just because this is the first time they are breaking into those positions. :facepalm

Okay , assuming Liverpool win all their remaining matches (:p) , 3 points out of 3 matches is what City require to confirm they ll be playing Champions League football next season . The result at Blackburn was the most unexpected one , I thought Blackburn were good enough to atleast hold City , but oh well ! :facepalm

Spurs can wave goodbye to their Champions League hopes after that draw against Blackpool.

Congrats to Man United. Overall, they deserved the win as we simply did not turn up whatsoever when it really mattered. Nothing left to play in the remaining two games but we must finish above the Gonners!

Their defeat at Stoke was at least the highlight of the day for me. :lol

Great win. The midfield was just brilliant. Park looked like he could do nothing wrong in the first 5-10 minutes. I think that just puts him ahead of Nani in the final for me. Hes defensively good as well. Valencia was very effective at the right and Giggs made some good moves from the centre. Carrick was solid as well.

It's getting tiresome hearing them linked with every player and his dog, eh?

Indeed - Man City - underestimate Stoke at your peril. Please do, give us a nice laugh on Cup Final day, as your long, long, long wait for trophies could go on!

That is how we need to play to beat Barca. If we turn up in that kind of mood, we will have a damn good chance.

It sure is. They are basically intending to collect every player sought by other big clubs out there. :facepalm

Agree. I would definitely love to see the look on their faces if Stoke can cause an upset in the final. :lol

Been saying it all season. Richards has got to be England # 1 right-back. What a commanding performance. Hopefully Capello comes around to that realization soon.

The result at Eastlands is a good one for Stoke as they will definitely be in the Europe League next season regardless of what happens this weekend in the FA Cup.

With all this talk of Champions league places. Really of United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool & Tottenham deserve to be in the champions league. Since they all are amongst the top 32 clubs in Europe, if we ignore the qualification rules. The CL will be weaker without Pool & Spurs next season for sure.

Deserve? Or is that "would compete well" in the Champions League?

Which is little surprise given how better off financially English clubs are compared to most of Europe these days.

If it carries on like this, we probably won't see another Monaco-Porto final or PSV coming within a whisker of a final place in '05 for a while. Well, until the English clubs inevitably implode financially like their Italian counterparts did in the '90s.
