I just want to shoot Henry and Wenger i mean, Henry betrayed us, signing a 4 year deal worth loads of money and saying i'll finish my career here and now loots us and goes to Barca and whats Wenger thinking £16m ma ass thats nothing, i mean SWP and bunch of other players bought by Chelsea cost more and this is Thierry HENRY best STRIKER in the world and we get what £16m might aswell let him go for free.....

DW Arsenal in the Championship next season

You can't blame Henry. He has lost faith in the club and by what he is saying it looks like it is going downhill. With Wenger yet to commit his future to Arsenal, I think Henry has made the right choice. The club is in a bit of a mess, so you can't really blame him. Now the board need to try to make Wenger stay, and stabilize the club.

Oh and about the price, he is in his 30s so above 20mil is extortionate for a player of this age. Plus, he hardly did anything last season...

He's 29

Schevchenko is 31 and cost 30 mil

Stupid price for Henry. I mean, seriously!

OMG OMG OMG...just find out about this...and i am absolutely gutted...thought we would have him back next season and he's gonna score loads of goals for us and ****** wenger goes ahead and sells him...for 16MIL...OMG...i mean sheva cost 30mil and the best striker in the world goes for 16mil and he's 2 years younger...i don't get it...and arsenal haven't bought anyone either...yeah we will sell henry...and than hold on to the money...for next year...come on...whats happenin...

Everyone saying £16m is not enough, but Barca felt they paid too much! They wanted to pay 9m less Euro's which would have put the deal at something like £10/11m. Its a decent bit of business really. Henry seemed disinterested and jaded when he featured last season and you could sense something just wasnt quite right.

Wenger knows what he's doing, he's done it before when players have reached their peak and done their job for the club, look at Vieira, Petit etc all were the main players and all moved on but were replaced with some shreud Wenger buying. For me, if Van Persie stays fit next season, the absence of Henry wont be felt much. Obviously everyone will scream out for a new striker to be brought in, and one undoubtebly will be. Anelka has been mentioned, he would be a like for like replacement for Henry. Tevez, Torres, Bent and Eto'o have all been linked, but I for one would like to see David Trezeguet come in. He is a deadly striker with an eye for goal, and I said at the start of last season Wenger should have done what he could to bring him in and ease the fears everyone had with Henry. It would have made Henry feel more comfortable playing with an international collegue upfront and the team would not have felt the absence of him and Van Persie throughout the season.

Trezeguet will guarantee 20+ goals and could easily be bought for £10-15m. Juve are looking to offload a striker and speculation has linked him with the door, so Wenger has to move quick or someone else will, and it will be a rival in the PL.

Its devestating news, but its not the end of the world. Henry missed most of last season and we still played some great football and got the results, the team is maturing and looking exciting, Diaby will be a force next season and I expect Rosicky to play a major role too. Naive fans forget we arent a one man team, we have a young exciting team and with the addition of a couple of players next season should be the start of a new era at the Emirates.

Apparently Henry has stated one of his reasons for leaving was Wenger not renewing his contract, now would be a good time to show he's staying because if he leaves that could be really bad fr Arsenal

Its doubtful Wenger will stay after this season, this is his last year, I am 95% sure he will honour his final year. He has done a lot for the club but his time is coming to an end. The one dimensional football we were playing at times last season was being undone by teams working us out. We try to pass the ball into the net and at times it can be very frustrating. Henry going may see that change as many felt it was he who influenced many of the young players to do that and play in that style, to score the 'perfect' goal if you will.

We need to be more adventurous, Wenger needs to enforce that passion and drive the team had back when we went unbeaten in the league, thats when we played good football and punished teams. A ruthless streak is needed infront of goal, someone who will score the scrappy goal or tap in when a goal keeper makes a mistake, and thats where Trezeguet fits in.

well it's not the end of the world but i just hope he buys another striker to go with van persie and adabeyor...a WC one...

We need a striker and we need to prove Henry wrong. I don't think he had enough faith in us. Good luck to him but he is going to miss out on a Premiership Winner's medal next year. :)

Arsenal fans, be positive. Arsenal can now move forward without having to rely on Henry and suffer through constant speculation of him leaving. I never thought I would see the day of him leaving but this is a new era for us.

Well we need some signings soon, and they need to be class. My main problem about Wenger's contract is that Fabregas will leave us if Wenger doesn't stay.and if that happens it will be a slippery slope to the level Tottenham and other rubbish teams reside at.

Spurs are improving and will continue to do so.

We played much more effective football than Spurs but their strikers were a lot more productive.

Henry or no Henry, Spurs are not on our level yet.

That wasn't our problem. It wasn't over-passing. It was our finishing. The game against Hamburg comes to mind. 30 shots, no goals.
