Well it's pretty obvious that this is the end of an era for Arsenal.
David Dein being forced out has blatantly made Wenger decided to run down his contract and then leave the club, which in turn has lead to Henry's depature.

It was Dein & Wenger that brought Henry to the club and supported him during his time at the club. For the past 5+ years, Dein and Wenger have been Arsenal Football club. It'll be a shame to see them go.

Wenger only needs to make 2 signings during the summer. The team as it is now minus Henry is more than capable. We will need a replacement striker for Henry although we have Van Persie, Adebayor, Walcott and Bendtner (who might I add looks very promising and should be given a chance next season) and something that strikes me there is experience, or lack of.

Van Persie - 23
Adebayor - 23
Walcott - 18
Bendtner - 19

So our two main strikers are 23, decent age, but only for improvement, at this stage they are still learning I wouldnt say together they could be the deadliest strike force in the PL. One of those 4 needs a player with experience alongside them, someone who will lead the way and teach them in a way that Henry did. An experienced campaigner who is capable at the highest level in other words. A friend suggested to me the other night that Roy Makaay would be an awesome signing, he has experience and can score goals, in a similar way that Bergkamp used to do for us, although I would say with less class and penache.

The second signing we need, is a defender. Again I use the word experience, if you look at our back 4 only Gallas stands out with much experience to his name. He needs someone alongside him who he can trust and put faith in, Senderos is error prone although solid at times, but I do like Toure. The good thing about Gallas and Toure is their versitility, so if a new center back was to come, Wenger could easily move one of them into a full back position. An experienced, cool, calm and collected customer, someone who is brave and could handle a tongue lashing from Lehmann! Its a tough one, I wouldnt go for Davies at West Brom as although he has potential, he still lacks that vital factor which the team needs; experience. Its hard to pick someone but if Wenger can find someone with those characteristics, then perfect.

We've also been linked to Ryan Babel, he would be a great player, and probably reminds Wenger a lot of Thierry Henry at that age. However, if Wenger leaves come the end of the season, what would be the point? Babel has the potential, but if he learns from Wenger in the coming season, only for him to be replaced the next, this will unsettle him and distract his game somewhat, but we shall see.

One thing id like to see though, Cesc Fabregas being given the captains armband.

Oh man so its come to this level that people have started saying that now Spurs are better than us... OMG wake up people thats just rubbish but things look atm i think we would be competing with Spurs come next season, Henry is a major blow its not that he done anything last season but its his precense that lifted the younger players. VP is not a natural striker, he is more of a second striker really, Now we so do need to get a predator. I dont know if Wenger will buy anyone, coz theres a doubt that he might not actually be at Arsenal come end of next season, well if we looks in reality, Arsenal are going down. I hope not , I hope not....

Stop being such a prat...Wenger is definitely leaving, and i'd back him for a few more years yet.We have a great young sqaud, add Babel, striker and a utility defender and we'll do fine.If Bent wasn't at such an exorbetant price i'd go for him.Damn Englishmen!

Exactly no Englishmen for us, cant afford them not that they are amazing anyway.Look at Walcott 12 mil lmao and World Finest Striker 16 mil i am still so angry about the price tag. Anyway we need a new striker one who has a bit of exp and goal scorer and defender defo

It's amazing how people are making such damning judgments when they haven't seen us play a single game yet.

Well you have lost your best player, it was bound to happen. Any side that loses their best player is going to come under specualtion, can you imagine if el scouse lost Gerrard?!

Make your judgments after the Emirates Cup where we play PSG, Valencia and Inter Milan. He wasn't our best player last season. He hardly played so why would we go into a decline just because he left?

It won't happen even if we went to the conference, he has no escape clause :p!

Well its a blow mentally now, and it does seem like Wenger will be leaving because according to Henry he is and i doubt he would tell Henry and then go back on it so playing under a manager who you doubt will be there isn't going to help

Frank Rijkaard may have won 8 trophies in 5/6 Years at the Club but wouldn't i be wierd if Wenger also went to Barcelona?

Think Henry is more to Arsenal than Beckham to us, we had Ruud, Keane, Scholes, Giggs etc all who are world class players whilst the only player who i think is at that level for Arsenal is Fabregas. Plus we used our money to buy Ronaldo, if Arsenal do that then this was a fantastic deal ;)

The News Of The World said yesterday that Nicolas Anelka would be going back to Arsenal as Thierry Henry's replacement. I'm not sure if there's any credit to this claim, but I don't think these two players are in the same league - Henry is so much better than Anelka, especially these days.
