I thought the problem was more to do with getting the ball to Torres in goal scoring opportunities. Chelsea created way too few chances. I was surprised that Ramires wasn't driving into the box as much as he usually does (probably because Meireles was holding rather than Romeu) and that affected them in the final third.

Fantastic start to the weekend!

thrilled to bits...

also, FINALLY! FINALLY Kenny actually doesn't defend his players for a poor performance. They don't deserve it after games like today. Gerrard and Bellamy can't do everything. Others have got to step up. Adam isn't good enough to play for Liverpool. I've reserved my judgment until now but I think it's becoming quite clear. Henderson was decent today but was played out of position.

Chelsea today were shocking.
Torres really needs to be dropped, Lukaku did more than him in the first 30 seconds he was on the pitch with his run down the right, he looks such a good prospect, and considering he cost ?20 million he should probably get a chance. He cant exactly do worse than Torres.

Also, Liverpool 3-1 down at bolton right now :lol
Torres is doing all the right things, he just can't get the ball into the net. On one occasion he had a great chance to shoot but tried to pass it across the box instead, which shows his lack of confidence. I'm sure he will come good.

Torres.. Torres.. Torres

I think the time for defending him is up

I have never seen a play so out of form in my life, and im not talking about him not scoring.

His passing,, i mean passes 10-20 yards away go all over the place, and as a forward myself the most important thing,. his touch is awful,, even when your missing chances if your touch and control are still good, you can at least link the play and maybe create something for someone else.

His total game is shocking and i think a run of 10 games in the side is to late to help him now..

Even if Chelsea want to off load him i mean who would want him??

He wouldn't get in my sunday team right now

Torres? Said it before, and I'll say it again, the guy needs to get his backside back to Spain.

Now, can someone please explain to me how Balotelli is still on the pitch? How did neither the referee or the linesman see that he blatantly tries to stamp on the guy's head??? If that wasn't a straight red and a three match ban straight off the bat, which it was, it was at the very least a second yellow card! Disgraceful behaviour by Balotelli there.

And perhaps the same person could explain how the hell Tottenham aren't winning right now??? What a miss!!

Football. Bloody hell. :D And we've still got the Arsenal game to come. :)

And of course, the git goes and wins the penalty that takes the game for City. Unbelievable mistake by the referee not to send him off.

Damn city. What a game. Spurs 2-0 down, then 2-2 in minutes, and Bale was in his prime. Terrific to watch. Unlucky penalty though, Spurs should've won it on the counter attack in the closing minutes. But City definitely were the single minded team in the closing minutes.

Great game tho.

Adam is always an average footballer, I never saw anything great in him to see him earn a spot in a top team. He should be out of the squad the next year unless he improves his perfomance, or instead he could become another Aquilani.

Feeling for Tottenham right now, but still the stronger and better team won the match.

A stoppage time goal and United are 1 up.

Valencia, nice effort. Unless Walcott tries something new, its game over for Arsenal.

How many times have I actually said "Meireles + Aquilani >>>> Adam + Henderson"?

I would rather have Lucas in place of Aquilani, gives some stability at the back.

Just got back from the city game.
Great result, showed massive amount of belief to keep passing it an working the ball in stoppage time rather than just lumping it into the box.

Not seen a reply of this balotelli incident yet, but I dont remember anything during the game. From what I've read/heard about it, it sounds like he's attempted to decapitate and murder Parker, but if it's bad surely at least one of the spurs players would of kicked off during the game?

Anyway, there is a far more important thing that the win, balotellis attempted murder or the last minute pen.
Savic should NEVER be allowed to put on a city shirt again!
I now understand the pain united fans have when they see Evans on the team sheet. Savic is shockingly bad.

A Utd fan is about to agree with a City one - stop the presses! Savic is indeed bloody awful - worse than Evans, I'd say!! To be fair on Jonny, he's looked better over the past few games, but I'm not yet decided if he's a Utd player. We don't need Jones to have a long one now, hopefully it is only a twisted ankle.

As for Balotelli, as Neville said afterwards, he'll probably get a ban of some sorts. Perhaps the ref didn't see it, but if he didn't I don't understand how the linesman didn't.

No payback for Arsenal, apart from having the temerity to score 2 against as at Old Trafford, ha ha. :D Tell you what though, that Chamberlain kid looks like a hell of a player!

Savic is exceptionally good at passing the ball between a fellow defender for 20 minutes.

Just seen this "stamp".

He was looking in the opposite direction, never once looked at the player, and as he falls over his foot hits him accidentally!
If he is able to see where Parkers head is and had stamped on him then he has the best vision of any player in history.

Ref saw it and stopped play, which IIRC means that nothing can be done about it now as the red deemed it OK during the game.
Lescotts elbow on Kaboul was far worse.
