Just seen this "stamp".

He was looking in the opposite direction, never once looked at the player, and as he falls over his foot hits him accidentally!
If he is able to see where Parkers head is and had stamped on him then he has the best vision of any player in history.

Ref saw it and stopped play, which IIRC means that nothing can be done about it now as the red deemed it OK during the game.
Lescotts elbow on Kaboul was far worse.

I've literally only seen a gif of that incident so I have no idea about what happened thereafter..but as far as I can tell from Twitter, the ref has only stopped play because it's a head injury, which puts Balotelli at the mercy of the FA.

Well the red saw it, and deemed it not a foul, but stopped it as it was a head injury.
Similar to the de Jong tackle on Ben Arfa last season. It was a good tackle, but he ref stopped play due to the injury which happened, but the FA couldn't do anything as the ref had seen it and deemed it not a foul.

He tried to stamp on him. No he'd have no idea Parker's head was there but that isn't the point.

I don't see how anyone could argue against a ban there.

He seas falling over. His right foot was in the air. He brought his right foot to the floor to attempt to not fall over. A spurs player had fallen to the floor at the same time. His foot hit the player who had fallen under him.

That was not intentional.

I completely and utterly disagree. That was intentional, I don't think for a second he'd of meant to go for his head but he was trying to stamp on him.

This.

We've seen a ton of players do it. They trip over someone on the ground and as they lose their balance they let a stamp go in the direction of the player on the ground. They don't have to see them, they know they're there.

The point has been made by most of the pundits so far, and anyone who has played will know what they're talking about. It's the unnatural movement of the stamp that gives it away.

Look, I know you're a City fan, but how can you say that was not intentional? It was exactly, 100% the same as the movement made by Rooney when he stamped on that Portuguese defender's apples area. As others have said, you don't need to look at the player. That was a stamp - take off the City blinkers!

And if the FA have got any balls, they'll ban that nutter. Should've been sent off straight away, then we'd be one point behind instead of three. Should've been sent off straight away because he tried to stamp on a fellow professional! I am amazed he stayed on. I can't remember that many, if any at all, incidents where a player did something like that and stayed on the pitch.

Still - City are not looking invincible any more. I said that after the first defeat, they'd get a bit shaky and that's proven to be the case. And we still have to go there. We can definitely go there and win, especially if the guys can focus the anger and hurt from the 6-1 properly.

doesn't matter if he didn't see parker, his standing [left leg] pressed against him. he knew exactly where he was.

It'll be interesting if any non City fans come on here and defend him. I can't see it myself.

I dont have city blinkers on, I have a set of very clear "I play football twice a week and know that as your falling over in the manner balotelli was its impossible to stamp on someone you can see, never mind someone you can't" glasses on

Watch it in normal speed not slowed down and you can see how quick it happened, there is no way in that split second he was falling over he made a decision to stamp randomly hoping he would his a spurs player.
And he was facing the opposite direction when Parker fell below him!

When you watch someone in slow motion it makes it seem like the player has made a decision to do something, when you watch it in full speed it is an entirely different incident.

Im playing 6 a side tomorrow night, if I fall over, I'll be sure to try and back heal somebody in the head before I hit the ground and I'll let you know how I do.

Of course you don't. And Sheikh Mansour is my best friend. :D :D :D

He wasn't aiming for his head. He knew there was a player behind him and petulantly kicked out. How anyone can argue otherwise is beyond me.

Precisely. No one's saying he was aiming for his head, but he was aiming to kick him. He knew exactly where he was and deserved a straight red and a three match ban. Since he didn't get the red, he could at least get a retrospective ban.

There are only two types of people in the world who didn't think that was a straight red: blind people and City fans.
