Well Steve first correct your info mate..So we are buying players what wrong in it..even your club has also buy thats why you are in debt..berbetov.rooney.de gea..young..valencia...anderson..did their previous club sold to u free?????so buddy every one spent money now not only city... look chelsea madrid just to name few..but i would admire barca they are producing through youth ranks some class players..

I don't know what you're whining about, as with some guys who tried to counter my sig saying Manchester united also buys success. Well if United do, they do considerably lower than their rivals have. Now look who's on top all these years.

Not mocking you for being a Man city 'fan' but where you just go over their whining gets you to the glory hunter mark.

It's easy to have a net transfer spend that's low when you sell Ronaldo for 80 million.

About the only teams that haven't bought success are the teams that can't afford to. In that case the qualification of success changes. Norwich are a team who have achieved success without buying. Back to back promotions and safe in the Premiership. At almost no point did they have bigger budgets than any of the teams they finished ahead of.

This whole buying success argument is bollox. Man Utd did buy success but they did it around 20 years ago. The other thing they have done though is developed youth and Fergie has been brilliant with nurturing them.

It doesn't look like Man Utd bought success because looking back on 20 years ago the fees seem a lot smaller. But as more money has come into the game, those fees have been dwarfed. United bought in quality player for large sums of money at the time. But it's about what you do from that base, City are investing in their massive sport city or whatever its called so, who knows, they could be the big boys in the next 10/15 years.

This coming from a Utd. fan.

'Correct my info'?

So - the reason we're in debt is because we bought players, yes? Nothing to do with the Glazers and their takeover then. You're the one that needs to get your facts straight.

Were it not for those idiot Americans, we'd still have the power to attract the very top players in the world - but we will again sooner rather than later, I think. In the meantime, we stride towards yet another title despite the millstone around our necks that is the Glazer family.

Sure, Utd have bought some players - but the core of the team for a good decade came directly from the Youth Academy. No one can argue with that. Only now is that era coming to an end with the imminent (or maybe not so imminent) retirement of Scholes and Giggs.

Still haven't said how long you've supported City for...

This coming from a Utd. fan.

The big difference is the youth that was developed and nurtured went on to form the backbone of the team for much more than a decade. Around that, sure we've bought players, but the spine of the team came straight from the Youth Academy.

It might also have to do with the fact that we got a man sent off. What, so you really believe that City are that much better than Utd? Funny that you're five points behind then.

The 6-1 was a freak result, just like the 8-2 against Arsenal. And like I said, we've handed out enough floggings to your lot over the years...

@KBC - Interesting info about our net spend. Where did you find that? :)

Well done for not reading this.

I dont want to continue this argument. But the fact is you agree or not now mancity is a bigger threat to u than before this year(maybe)but next year for sure..and if your saying about youth just visit this website you will know the plans of city...and please read it full.Man City unveil training academy vision - CNN.com

@sattar - your posts are very hard to read. Please think about spacing and capital letters as it makes people less likely to skip what you wrote.

It's an answer in itself. Ronaldo was bought for 12mil and sold for 80m. Typical United 'gem-in-the-making' player.

who is this steve guy whose club is going around recklessly spending money they haven't earned?

am i the only person who thinks van persie comes across as a bit of a tool?

the whole to do with tim krul the other week. refusing the shake caldwell's hand last night.

Quality player undoubtedly but he doesn't seem likeable at all.

He has a temper. Would be a decent guy to be around normally, but yeah, to give you an idea when he first arrived from Feyenoord he had attitude problems.
