Bloody hell I'm pissed.

RVP deserves better than that, if I'm being honest if he wants trophies he won't get them by his retirement at Arsenal. Unless he has a shocking Euro 2012 (which I hope), or he just wants to be a club legend, he should go on and advance his career.

Looks likely with his speech after that award he won a few days ago, FWA or something.

Oh and it wasn't just because we drew, if it was a loss it could've been better than this, it was the way the draw was served up, wow that was pathetic.

Wow, what an ending to the FA Cup! Once again, we're talking about goal line technology, but I'm not sure even that would've cleared this one up. Incidents where the ball bounces can be solved by goal line technology, but the ball was in the air when it did or didn't cross the line. What a save by Cech in any case - unbelievable.

Now on to tomorrow's Premiership business - a lot will be decided.

Thought the right decision was made in the end - NOT a goal. First 60 minutes cost us the game, inspite of boasting relatively better match stats than Chelsea. Reina should have done better with Ramires' goal, Suarez was average, Gerrard played too deep, Henderson's passing was poor in an otherwise okay-ish game. Spearing and Enrique were simply atrocious - not Liverpool material!

Btw... Carroll for Euros? Anyone? :D

Game had Chelsea written all over it until Carroll came on.

Man that's a great goal, dribbling in the box and shoots to the top of the net, that's class. unlucky on that extraordinary save but if Liverpool had managed to level the tie and took it to the extra time Carroll would easily be the man of the match. Idk they showed him for a minute after the defeat and there was something about him, it wasn't that lazy faced Carroll, he's starting to look more dangerous and bringing about some sense into his bank breaking signing.

Definitely not a laughing stock after that goal. He's just not had his time, like Liverpool. They managed to get through the defense better than Barcelona did, only if they found the net. Probably Henderson is the only sidekick in the game, I've not seen a shot that came any close to the goal, should've done a better job with the rebounds, someone like Gerrard should've been where he was.

But credit to Chelsea, Ramires is their man for the run, fortunate deflected goal but Drogba's goal was a peach. I thought he'd miss it but the shot was really tight.

On a positive note Liverpool can see the better side of the match, they really didn't kick up the ante until the last half hour, and Agger, Enrique and Johnson were great, Gerrard shouldn't be too displeased that he's kicked off his chances.

Roberto Di Matteo, he's as calm as it gets, no jackass celebration, kind gestures, pats on the back, at the back of the things, and I'm sure he'll stick with them for another season. Why change when things are working?

Neutral > Like.

Agreed with every single thing barring this:

Agger, Enrique and Johnson were great, Gerrard shouldn't be too displeased that he's kicked off his chances.

I take it you meant Skrtel and not Enrique? Enrique was easily one of our worst players today, probably after Spearing. Shame Aurelio's made of glass and gets injured often, cos I'd have preferred him over Enrique any day. And Skrtel and Agger were our only positives till the hour mark, before our entire team burst to life.

Speaking of the league, wouldn't it be incredibly funny if both Tottenham and Newcastle happened to win their remaining two league fixtures, while Chelsea lost the Champions League final in Munich? Would mean 3 of the Traditional Big 4 in Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool would be LIVE on Thursday, Channel 5 next season. :D

Match of the season though for me - Arsenal v Norwich

Well, if Crouch can be considered, why not Carroll? I think he's a more skilful player and is definitely a better header of the ball.

It was clear the Liverpool was missing Lucas today. Spearing had another shocker. He didn't know what he was doing and was at fault for both goals. As a result, Gerrard was repeatedly out of position which made it very difficult to move the ball forward and advance the play. He was basically trying to do 2 players' jobs on his own and consequently spent too much time around the back four. This left Suarez far too isolated. Him and Bellamy hardly got a touch of the ball until Carroll came on. Downing tries but he's pretty average. He's not Liverpool quality. Enrique was horrible as he has been for most of the 2nd half of the season. He hasn't got enough pace and so he has to realize that he has to be better positionally. However, even if his positioning is bad, his decision making still needs to be better. He was in two minds whether to intercept or run back to stop Ramires and in the end did neither.

Obviously I would have preferred for Liverpool to win but at least I can find solace in the fact that at least this loss doesn't paper over some very obvious cracks. Hopefully there will be some big changes over the summer now.

March 1980.. Care to tell me the result at Portman Road that day? And what was significant about Gary Bailey's performance in the United net?

1980... sorry, that was before my footballing time. I started following football and supporting Utd in 1986 (I'm only a Geordie until tomorrow). :) Go ahead then, enlighten me: what was the result? :)

Ah, the glory days. It was 34 years ago today (May 6) that we won the FA Cup.
