Solid performances from the guys, you're next Chelsea. ;)

Yep - very solid tonight. Wasn't much of a spectacle though, was it - although Aguero's goal livened it up.

I think going out of the other two cups in close succession has put the skids under our season a little bit, especially when we've not really got anything to play for in the Premiership. That's a dangerous mindset to be in though. How many more points do we need again? :D :p

10 more points should see you guys win the title, Arsenal away most likely the fixture.

It wasn't boring or anything, but yeah, not your typical Manchester derby of the money era.

United lost for one simple reason IMO - playing Giggs in mid-field. SAF went back to the failed early season tactic of playing any two of the trio of Carrick/Scholes/Giggs in the center of the park.

This is why United need to buy another dominant mid-fielder to partner Carrick next season.

Overall too looking at this defeat & United's lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup, i do feel that Mancini's suggestion the other day that United "dont deserve to be 18 points ahead" has some merit.

United regular Carrick/Cleverley mid-field duo really on paper isn't stronger or in some cases even with that of Chelsea's - Mikel/Lampard/Oscar, Man City Toure/Barry/Milner,Spurs - Dembele/Sandro or Parker, Liverpool's - Lucas/Gerrard/Henderson, Arsenal's - Wilshire/Mikel/Cazorla, Everton - Osman/Gibson/Fellani.

It just seem United have a stronger mentality to win which has been instilled in them by Ferguson of course.

The guy's in good form, and he always performs well in good patches, so I guess he'll save you.:p

The kind of form Hazard and Mata are in, it surely will be difficult for City. In their last match City outplayed Chelsea (although I think scenario would have been different if Lampard hadn't missed) , but it does look difficult now with Chelsea's recent performances.

Uh oh.....

Lampard isn't an important player to Chelsea in truth.

And that might make Courtois stay with Atletico for another season.

Shocking from United, Fergie has to take a lot of the blame for being slow to use any subs and leaving Giggs on. Why Kagawa didn't start or even come on at some meaningful point was strange.

Fans of English football have continually underrated Lampard for about 10 years. Probably longer.

Look at his medals. Look at his goal record. He's pretty much one in two this season in the league. He's clearly been a big player for chelsea this season.
