Really not as painful a loss as some are making it out to be, now, at least Mancini will definitely be out.

Losing a cup final should be devastating.

But then when you know you have a bottomless pit of money to keep throwing at the club until you win something else I guess it doesn't really matter. There will be more coming soon enough.

No one gives the slightest toss about the Community Shield.

Wigan will. ;) As will Moyes - he'll want to get the first one under his belt even if it is just the glorified friendly curtain raiser.

Wait a minute - does this mean Wigan are now in Europe?

Wigan would have been in Europe win or lose today. Man City have already qualified for the Champions League so the European place that usually goes to the winner was always going to Wigan.

Yes, Swansea and Wigan in Europe next season.

Guess I worded that wrong, it is devastating, and I am devastated, but just the thought of Mancini getting sacked and Pellegrini replacing him makes me feel a whole lot better.

He's been sacked for months if you ask me; he's just been deluding himself that he'll be there next season.

So.... this is it: Sir Alex' last game at Old Trafford and of course, Scholes is also bowing out as well. No word on Giggs' future yet - maybe he's still got the appetite to carry on. Either way, himself, Scholes and of course Sir Alex have all been immense for Utd, and for English football in general.

Scholes is interested in management - he's a very quiet chap but you know what they say: 'it's always the quiet ones'. I think Scholesy could make a great manager.

That's class... Old Trafford is a sea of Champions 2013 red flags, but they've given Swansea 'Capital One Cup Winners 2013 white flags' as well. Don't expect Swansea to wave the white flag today though; they'll want to spoil the party. On the other hand... we might all get to find out what Roast Swan tastes like.. :D :D :D

Yorke just dropped a bit of a clanger. :D 'Send off', Dwight. Not 'sending off'... we don't want Sir Alex sent off today. ;)

Fantastic day today, topped by a typical late Utd winner - albeit from an unlikely source: congrats on the first goal in years, Rio!

Interesting reaction from the fans to Rooney - a distinctly mixed reaction when he went up for his medal, and no cheer when he individually raised the trophy, although they did wheel out the 'White Pele' song later on.

Gotta love Sir Alex - telling the fans, not asking them: Now it's your job to stand behind our new manager! I think we all got a tiny slither of what a Sir Alex team talk was like when he said that - it certainly felt that way to me.

Scholes had a great game for his last appearance at Old Trafford; shame he didn't get a goal, but he put in a couple of cracking challenges: looks like he's finally learned how to tackle. Better late than never, eh? :p

See you next season, Premier League!

missed today's game because apparently I have mumps. disappointing, don't think I missed a home game for the first 6/7 years of his managerial reign.

oh and apparently the guy I am joint-best man with had something planned for today for my brother's wedding too, and I missed that.

Norwich to go do down next year. They've been one of the worst teams in the Premiership since Christmas and I can't see them bringing any players in this summer who will change that.

The only reason they survived was that miracle defence they had just before Christmas with Ruddy in goal.

I think they would've safely finished with a similar points total to QPR and Reading.
