What is with all this talk? We are only 5 games in! At this stage, even West Brom could be champions!

I find myself thinking that a bit, the opening fixtures are too small to work off. often in football I've seen players and managers start brightly and then become complete failures, and others start slowly before becoming massive successes.

wouldn't want to state categorically that this will happen of course, but form isn't always predictable and I'd wait to see more before drawing firm conclusions.

Now why the sudden change? How was today different to the last season at Man Utd? That's right, a certain Dutchman!

I said it just a week ago. United will suffer without van Persie. Either if he's injured or out of form.

Come off it; the team was still on the coach - RvP playing wouldn't have made a difference, not one little bit.

Exactly. Even as late as December last season, Tottenham had practically cemented a top four spot and then choked, as Tottenham do. At the same time, Arsenal closed something like a 10 point gap.

Why is there a sunglass smiley in my post?

Rio's been a disaster all season, Evans is surely ahead of him in the pecking order after another mistake prone performance.

It's also time Utd started using Jones and Smalling more often in the centre as well rather than shunting them wide.

Moyes is just making the same mistakes Fergie did in consistently picking Valencia and Young when they were playing badly.

The likes of Nani, Kagawa and Hernandez really need to be played more often.

It was quite bad that Utd looked a lot better after Cleverley came on just because he brought some mobility in midfield and made himself available in passing positions.

Fellaini can play a lot better but if anything he's more suited to being a long term replacement for Carrick rather than his regular partner.

Indeed and i am surprised he has played so much games for United so quickly. It was only in March when Hodgson recalled him for England, there was this talk from Ferguson that has this pre-planned preparation for games that prevents him from playing more than twice a week.

I'm up to the end of the first half, and van Persie would've made a big difference. Man Utd had several opportunities to attack in the second half and something could've been made of it if he was available. At 1-0 down him scoring would've been huge.

With RVP or without RVP we would have still lost the match :) and this is the first time in last 4 and a half years that Ferdinand has started 6 games in a row :/

Exactly.

Anyway to the game tonight: Liverpool safely dispatched from the Capital One Cup. Feel a bit better now. :D

Norwich at home next.

Nice to see the likes of Nani, Kagawa and Hernandez play. There's a clear difference in attacking variety and general quality in the final third without Young or Valencia playing.

A shame Moyes didn't bother to put a proper midfield out behind them though.

Valencia is still good but Young is playing like a piece of ---- these days

Liverpool fans before the match-Suarez will destroy Manchester United
Liverpool fans after the match- Next year is ours :p

COC=The only hope of LFC to win something this year and they are out of it and instead of worrying about us think about yourself
