:lol Ha yep. Que the usual PC squad to say he is still average or should have scored more etc...

Yeah; it's almost as though he's been reading this very forum.

Good to see Young coming back to form as well - at his best, he can still do a job for Utd and England. Remember a few years back when he was England's best player?

And what a cracker from Barkley today; he must be on that plane to Brazil, but as a squad player. Too much pressure for him to be saddled with the (considerable) hopes and dreams of the entire nation.

Nope, because that never happened.

In encourage you to check back ENG player performances in the last few years & you will certainly find Young was the best performing ENG player for a certain season.

Ye love his new gangster low cut - doing a very good Gazza impersonation :lol.

IMO he has to start, the ability to get away from players at pace is going to be a key in Brazil conditions. Just need to adjust the mid-field formation to accommodate him. The best options could be AC Milan's current Christmas tree set-up or a 4-4-2 diamond:

------------------Sturridge----------------

---------Rooney-------------Barkley-------

-----Wilshere------Carrick-------Gerrard------

or

------------Rooney-------Sturridge------------

--------------------Barkley----------------------

-------Wilshere---------------------Gerrard------

---------------------Carrick------------------------

Either formation you have the young talent of Wilshere/Barkley surrounded by key veterans Gerrard/Carrick. Nobody has to be sacrificed.

i think stick all the expectation on barkley, it never does most young players much harm having loads of pressure. Januzaj is being told he has to lead man u forever, he's doing alright with that.

Really? You don't remember when he was scoring for fun, and being a constant threat? You've got a bit of a short memory then. Don't let your dislike for the guy cloud what he has done in the past. Even when he first arrived at Utd he hit the ground running and was a very good player for us.

All the signs are he's returning to that sort of form.

He had a few good games when he first joined United, and a purple patch at Aston Villa. Other than that, he has been hopeless.

As War said, the statistics show he was one of, if not the best England players a few years back. As for the few good games, it was more like a good season overall.

Very entertaining game against Hull today and a great comeback from 2-0 down away from home. Five points off the lead again. :)

That Hull defender if I was manager would not be picked in my team again for a very long time

One of the worst own goals I've ever seen, how he managed to not head it clear is beyond me, let utd off the hook.

A very simple cross in and head clear, not rocket science, :facepalm

Man City VS Liverpool, 2-1 shocking, it should have been 3-5to Liverpool if Stirling did not miss the sweaty goal and if Johnson did not put up a bad touch when the net was free and the lines men, disgrace absolute disgrace foot ball should have a 3rd referee or something who takes care with the technology and the fifth goal should have been when the ref didn't give Suarez the penalty at dying minutes.

And where does Skrtel trying to get Kompany naked at every corner come into your life of ifs?

Hmm it was only Hull - but United showed the kind of come from behind victory pedigree that i thought they had lost.

Plus the return of Fletcher, the possible revival of Young and form of Welbeck as striker could influence how significant United shop in January.

A Carrick/Fletcher mid-field duo or even at times a Jones/Carrick/Fletcher mid-field trio is pretty solid. Along with Young scoring goals from the left, young Adnan doing his thing, Valencia on the right & the eventual return of RVP - United could possibly be fine once again - but of course its early days.

OMFG why always you? Maybe that is why I said 3 to City. But come on you got to admit this game should have been a draw or a win to Liverpool.
