Lamela was a Baldini purchase obviously, he's a decent player, massively over priced though.

Seeing Lamela being used so sparingly, perhaps AVB never wanted him in the first place?

Yeah but Levy pulls the strings in the big scheme of thing. I very much doubt that Baldini would've let go of all the money at once, that was Levy's input.

Feel sorry for ABV a bit though, don't think he is bad coach, but flopping at two big 4 premier league clubs is going to hurt his management credentials all around Europe. I'd be surprised if he manages in the premiership again at least.

From a English perspective, wouldn't mind seeing Hoddle get the job. He looks the best option to coach England after Hodgson goes, so a job at Spurs could ease him back into management for the time being.

Yeah; I'd love to see Hoddle back in Premiership management - for those very reasons.

The thing I don't get is, they sell Bale now for that deal to go through that late was always asking for problems. 100 Million on the transfer window is also something that doesn't always work out, the only thing that surprise me is that he should have thought of at least a good replacement for the LM role I actually thought Lamela will be good as a replacement but now... Some one like Turan or Levezzi was all that was required.

Suarez is incredible, he's gonna be unstoppable if he moves to the Spanish League. Hope he doesn't though.

So, I was right in thinking Man City won that game unfairly. There were four rubbish offsides called for them against us, of which two were disallowed goals (Giroud and Bendtner), a third which was a simple pull back from Monreal to Giroud for a goal and a fourth which had Walcott one-on-one with a dodgy Pantilimon in the box. They were all quite significant, the Monreal pull back especially as that was at 1-1, though the Bendtner goal had us back in the game too.

That is now two games we have pretty much only lost due to poor refereeing decisions, the Villa game the other. We certainly aren't getting any favours.

Shearer and Ferdinand would also have been playing in 38 game seasons.

People are saying he should leave asap so that the money factor does not come in for later, but if he can get us a high finish then we would automatically get the money depending on where we finished. I will be more then happy to see him retire with Liverpool.

It makes sense to get three contract done before January. Arsenal came knocking, any serious European team could get to talk to him for 40 million. They had to remove this clause before the transfer window.
Suarez might have gotten himself an exit clause this time round, but I believe, based on current form, it would be in the region of 90mn-100mn.
Great for the club as well in all respects (apart from the added cost, of course) if they will have to sell him, a person with 5 years on his contact will fetch much more than someone with 2.
And, Yes, the intent is back. If not challenging for the title yet, we're definitely after that champions league spot, hopefully 2nd or 3rd.

Usually for free transfers the wages are the same, they just get a nice signing on bonus as well though.
