War has already picked Jack Gregory I'm afraid...

Then i'll need a keeper to play at 6

Not sure that will be too easy to get. Flower, Sangakkara and Alec Stewart are about the only top 6 keepers in history as far as I can see. Gilchrist could have batted there too I guess, but either way it's a pretty short list. I'll be interested to see who you find :yes

My picks are : Phil Mead and Rod Marsh :thumbs Got the keeper.

AP has already picked Phil Mead. Whose pick counts?

Geez I dunno :lol Pixel's probably got the higher ground because he posted Mead first and it was your error, but I don't think the rule has been clearly established.

I will let him have him but just for future instances, I'd rather have a rule set that until the person (who needs to pick) completely finishes up with his picks, next person cannot pick.

Back to cricinfo then. :p

Clem Hill it is.

Make your other pick AP. I need to decide who I'm going to get. :p

Not to sound harsh, but it was your fault that you picked someone who was ineligible or already picked. So, AP does get priority.

According to me, the person at the first place should be allowed to complete his picks. This will make sure that their is no confusions and also that the person at the first place is done with his picks. There can be a time limit though, like if someone has picked a player who is already picked he needs to make another pick in 15 minutes or else the next member gets to pick, this will make sure that there are no delays. We all make mistakes while picking up a player and like I wanted Phil Mead but till I posted, he was already taken by AP. Never mind, it's all sorted out now. :)

Yeah, but Phil Mead was a replacement for Jack Gregory. He wasn't your original pick, and tbh, you shouldn't be making the mistake of picking someone who's already picked anyway.

Damn... Would be hard to find a better keeper than Marsh in that era:facepalm

I'm searching for the keeper. Gimme some time PS ;)

For a team full of amusing characters my next pick from 70's had to be none other than Javed Miandad. I was surprised that no one has picked him yet. Good for me ;)

Jacques Kallis celebrates his maiden double century

Current age: 36 years
Major teams: South Africa, Cape Cobras, Warriors
Batting style: Right-hand bat
Bowling style: Right-arm fast-medium

Kallis is like wine, getting smoother with age but there is no doubt he was at his best, when he steadily and single handedly destroyed every bowling line up in the world. I really think many have underrated Kallis ability to take a game away from a team by actually scoring runs quickly. While age has caught up with him, I still think that he can be as dangerous a allrounders as any in the world. It was a case of get Kallis on, and when he was out, a most bitter cheer. If there were glory days in cricket, it surrounded Kallis, those banks of Africa supporters spilling onto the pitch, with Kallis centre stage like a Hollywood star.

He lies 15th on the all-time list for best Test average, with only two others who are currently still playing above him, Sangakkara and Sachin. He has been the model professional, as you would expect, doing some solid slip in the first knock when his strike rate was 46, and then markedly cranking up the tempo in his longer-duration second vigil to 61. People talk about aura when it comes to Tendulkar, but up against Kallis? Not a chance - He defined aura. It's not just stats when it comes to the Kallis. Listen to the auld fellas.

Needless to say that stat, too, must be considered under hazard
